I had a publisher today tell me that they didn't know the historical context of the book I wrote. They seriously had not heard of the Byzantine Empire.

I can't see any mountains. Are they hiding behind the fog?

Maybe those used to be mountains, until the coal companies relieved them of the top 75%.

We have mountains like that in AZ too, it's just that they're called "foothills" and they surround actual mountains.
