TESTEMONAIL:  Right and Discordianism allows room for personal interpretation. You have your theories and I have mine. Unlike Christianity, Discordia allows room for ideas and opinions, and mine is well-informed and based on ancient philosophy and theology, so, my neo-Discordian friends, open your minds to my interpretation and I will open my mind to yours. That's fair enough, right? Just claiming to be discordian should mean that your mind is open and willing to learn and share ideas. You guys are fucking bashing me and your laughing at my theologies and my friends know what's up and are laughing at you and honestly this is my last shot at putting a label on my belief structure and your making me lose all hope of ever finding a ideological group I can relate to because you don't even know what the fuck I'm talking about and everything I have said is based on the founding principals of real Discordianism. Expand your mind.

This is how I spent my afternoon:

I like having a beach less than ten minutes from my house.

Some notes on the beach: It is on Swan Island, which is mostly an industrial park. The guy on the right is wearing a Superman suit. Those guys are "boat campers", commonly also called pirates, who are people who live on boats that they illegally moor around the city. The beach usually has a few pirates. Sometimes pirates live on land, especially during the warmer months. Bring a garbage bag. Do not go barefoot at the beach. It is not advised to go to the beach alone at night. To get to the beach, park in the McDonald's parking lot and skirt the far north side of the field.

Having a beach ten minutes from my house is my current mission in life. Current nearest beach is 60 miles away and, tonight, I'm driving 160 to chase some swell due in on Monday.

I am pretty damn lucky! Thanks to my location on the peninsula I live within half an hour of a bunch of beaches. They're all river beaches though, so they probably wouldn't meet your need for waves.

Hmmm, yeah, rivers kinda suck. Minus 10 envy points

Yeah, the actual ocean beach is like 60 miles away. I'm at the convergence of two large rivers, which has its benefits, one of them being I can actually swim in the water here, an act which would be suicidal at the coast.

This is the same spot on the same beach, looking the other direction:
