Hah.  Yeah, they kinda botched his character on the TV show, I think.  He killed one measely kid, and since then...nothing.  Hell, even Jaime Lannister has managed to be a bigger bastard than that.

I can't recall him being totally terrible in the books. No remose and a little creepy, but compared to most he's a pretty cool guy, guy.  Possibly just trying to show the difference between the brothers prior to the eventual showdown.

Oh, he wasn't totally terrible.  But he was a killer, and he enjoyed his work.  As far as he was able to enjoy anything, anyway.

In the TV series, he killed Micah, then whined for three seasons straight.
