My shoes have decided to finally bite the dust. I'm left with a pair of flip-flops and a pair of sandals.
There is supposed to be a cold front coming. I shall now be the person wearing sandals with socks (because unless you have those toe socks it's not possible to do with flips).

Man, I used to love coming to this bar.

Then they just started blasting pop country all the time with the teevee cranked up as well.

SOMEBODY OUGHT TO WALK IN HERE WITH A BIG RUSTY PIPE AND BRING BACK THE GOOD OLD DAYS.

After thinking about various ways to expand my marketing, I have decided to emphasize the fact that I don't read auras, use crystals, or do anything spiritual.

I had a snippet of that on my site and people frequently mentioned it as their number one deciding factor, so I cranked it up.

I thought of advertising as a male therapist, but that seems...silly? Weird? Unnecessary?

I can't take their support at all.  But I can hook them up with people who can.

Youse and us, ehhhhh, youse know, we can't be seen together. It would raise too many questions. But I know a guy. I'll let 'im know to help youse out.

More or less.

Hey, it was YOU that said "allies".

And "publicly".

Now you're "facilitating".

Yes, ally in the sense that we are on the same side of the issue (though for very different reasons).

So, when the international cocaine cartels show up at the door trash-talking marijuana, you will give them covert assistance as well?

Why not?

You know that moment when a gossipy voice from the distant past, whose been smearing your name all over this small town a decade ago and since then, turns out to be the new neighbour you've been friendly wth?*

I'd be happy if my history would stay where it is, but this is like a time capsule of awkwardness and I plan on enjoying it.

My position is being advertised for by the school.

Or at least the position with the same job title and role as mine.  It seems they are looking for another Houseparent, to start maybe next term.

I am suspicious, since we already agreed that one of the Assistant HPs would be promoted for this year.  They're also advertising for another Assistant HP.  Hmmm....

There could be something in their rulebook about advertising open positions even if they intend to fill them internally. That's not uncommon.

Maybe.  I'm not up on Swiss law in regards to employment though (my understanding is, however, that it's pretty terrible for the employee.  Shit, I've been on duty 7 nights straight now, which is entirely illegal under UK law).

Still, it can't hurt to plan ahead.  I'm not entirely enamoured of this job anyway...the degree takes precedence, and this job is making it rather difficult.  It might be that I voluntarily leave before my contract locks me in, and go back to the UK and find something part time, just enough to keep my head above water (say, 30 hours a week) and focus on the study.

Do you suppose it may change once things are settled, or is it just an environmental thing?

Well i wouldnt say its morally bankrupt. Im looking for another word. Illogical is the best i can come up with now. The worst of my cold seems to have passed but after being at work for a few hours while still recovering has left me a bit hazy.
