My friends, good news! The always helpful Michael Anissimov has recently posted the Neoreactionary Glossary, which gives you a nice summary of the key memes of this exciting new intellectual movement.

I hate the modern trend of tumblr-esque excessive progressivism as much as the next person with half a brain, but when it comes right down to it, neoreactionaryism sounds an awful lot like monarchism. Monarchism, like fascism and all totalitarian systems, relies on the existance of the archetypical "benevolent dictator". A society ruled by such an individual would be indeed a wonderful thing, but when it comes down to it, the ideal benevolent dictator doesn't exist.

Because of this fact, anytime you go about advocating some sort of neoreactionary bullshit, in all reality you're just playing useful idiot to another human being's ambitions to become the monarch. It's really some totally debasing shit...I mean, when it comes down to it, why would you want to subjugate yourself to nobly uplift someone who, at the end of the day, is nothing more than a simple human being? Your aristocratic class still poops, masturbates, gets old, suffers injury...they even smell bad when they fail to bathe and wake up with matted bed hair in the morning...just like you. Why would you ever advocate having aristocrats to the debasement of yourself? Rather you should be doing whatever you can to advance your own position...

The funniest part is that the probably spent more time coming up with that name than their actual ideological "thinking". And then, when decided upon that name all agreed that it was SO COOL.

This is pretty much a textbook example of idiot groupthink.

That BN thinks fascism is simply a "nationalist form of socialism despised by most neoreactionaries" shows his own intellectual weakness in studying the history and alliances of fascism, and is part of a longstanding liberal conservative (ie mainstream right) project to conflate the Soviet Union with Nazi Germany in order to justify American action to contain the former.

How does it feel, being a dupe to Cold War propaganda memes? 

I always wondered about that. It results in such a bizarrely skewed impression of history, that I feel like I'm looking at a Cubist painting of historical events.


I enjoy the way BN does not actually structure any arguments, but rather comes up with, uh, "snappy" and "intellectual" retorts to being called a halfwit scum-sucking fucktard and then posts links to the Big Poppa Fucktard's ramblings.
