Salty

Today is going to be a rough one.

My wife, uh, did that thing again, yesterday, 2 days shy of 3 months.

So I have to go print out a form and get her to fill it out so I can file it.

I feel sick and broken, but there is only one way to handle this.

I'm so sorry, Alty.

Is it just me, or does it often seem to happen on emotionally significant days like birthdays and holidays?

It happens on those days, when I am wholly unguarded, am lavishing her with affection.

It happens whenever I am at my most happiest at the knowledge I have an amazing and beautiful person in ky.life who loves me deeply.

Now I have to walk away from that, that connection I have nevee had with anyone else because...because she is an asshole with mental problems.

She was doing so well. I was so fucking happy.

It's unfortunate, but it was her responsibility to get her behavior under control, and you have to do what you have to do for your own emotional health and stability. Wishing you strength in getting through this, and I'm here if you want to talk about it.

Yes, it was. There are all sorts of ways to excuse it, but that is not my way.

Thanks, I may text you at some point,

Thank you.

The worst part, atm, is how it feels like I am the one making the decision.

I spent about two months waiting for her to do it again so I could be done and not feel guilty. Then I eased up and eased up andnow this.

Really though, it could be worse. It could have gone on like this for years, probably would have if not for my constant effort to check my own brain.

That lockpick metaphor if yours, LMNO, really helps me a lot, actually.

She made the decision, by not getting a handle on her behavior. She had lots of options to do so, including such simple things like "I'm feeling frazzled and need to spend half an hour alone/go for a walk/hide in this corner". She opted not to do that. It was her choice. You set your boundary, and it is a fair and reasonable one. Following through now is the best thing for both you and for her.

Yeah, it has to be done. I asked my self What Would Squiddy Do? Then I dialed it back a bit.

Besides, it's hard to do "Squiddy" right, because it involves lifting people off the ground while you scream at them, and probably some level of cannibalism.

I actually just feel better talking about it. So thanks guys,

I will be happier in the end, not having this in my life.
