I’m sorry to hear about your mom’s cancer, Roger. Good luck to her, to you, and to the rest of your family.
Congratulations on the baby boy, Trivial.
The wife and I were in London during the Parsons Green bombing. It didn’t seem to phase the Londoner’s much. If we hadn’t seen it on the BBC TV news, we wouldn’t have known anything was wrong. That is, until we got to the airport in Manchester yesterday, to come back to the States. Going through security was stressful, to say the least. They actually removed and tested the tiny bottle of lens cleaner fluid I always carry in my camera case. (That tiny plastic bottle is probably twenty years old, and it never occurred to me to remove it from my camera case and pack it in my suitcase for air travel.)
I also got a call on Tuesday telling me my dad had to go in for emergency gallbladder surgery yesterday. As he will be ninety years old in January, and has black lung from being a coal miner, that was stressful. But the surgery went well, and he should be going home tomorrow.
