Principia Discussion / A challenge for all Bush-Haters

Quote from: agent compassionIt's stupid and wrong no matter who does it. I wish leaders would just duke it out with each other when they had a grudge instead of getting their citizens involved and killed.

Well thats the thing, isnt it?  They wouldnt start this bullshit so much if there was a very real chance they would get hurt.

I always found moving meditations easier.  Perhaps that is just due to martial arts.  I find it very easy to meditate whilst performing a pattern from traditional Tae Kwon Do, or some of the one person Ju-jitsu ones.

Oh and to add something serious, it does look like there will be a neocon/traditional republican split of sorts.  I dont know exactly how much pull the party can have on the President, but it does look on the cards. I remember pre-election, teh BBC talking about Snowcroft and other traditional Republicans wanting a return to older based theories of foreign policy.  I didnt see any mention of the domestic situation, make of that what you will.

This country just passed a law allowing the Home Office Secratery to place anyone under house arrest, and a lovely law called the ASBO (AntiSocial Behaviour Order) which have started to be used agsint peaceful protestors, apprently.  But it doesnt sound half as bad as what the US has.  Well, we will see after the elections here what Bush's number one fan decides to do.  Good luck to all you out there.

Whenever I see DHS, I cant help but think of the sofa store called that in the UK.  It just doesnt have that fearful inspiration of the SS, or the NKVD.  Espescially when you think they are sofa salesmen.

I call for a Greater Jihad on Lesser Jihads (because I bothered to read what the difference was, and to out-Jihad you all).

nahh...can't do it. i tried to be all neo-con there. it's not going to work out....this mangrove will return to being a regularly scheduled asshat.

There was a TV program in the UK called "Holidaying in the Axis of Evil".  It was about exacly what the title said.  I think they did a few other places too, like Syria and stuff also.

Quote from: LMNOWell, then, I'd reccommend the southern coast of Spain.  Beautiful country, great food, and little to no ETA presence.

Full of British tourists in the summer though, espescially the coast...not my cp of tea

Quote from: Voice of TruthYou know, I've seen some pretty interesting statistics in some recent polls in Iraq about voter turnout.  One of them was as high as 80%.

Incredible, thats the percenage of foreign Iraqis who have somehow not able to or unwilling to vote! (Source The Times, UK one)  Also, the fact that some of the largest parties (like the largest Sunni party and one of the larger Shia parties) have pulled out because of the unfairness in the election procedures.
