I never see it mentioned outside of blue spaces.
Except once. Somehow FOX let this lady slip past the censors.  :lulz:

I'd have to see it for myself, and of course they haven't released it. I just keep finding things like this:

"We have a manifesto," Drake told reporters. "We have some writings that we're going over that pertain to this date, the actual incident. We have a map drawn out of how all this was gonna take place."

"There's right now a theory that we may be able to talk about later, but it's not confirmed," he added. "So, we'll put that out as soon as we can."

Drake hinted that one theory on the motive may involve Hale's transgender identity. While police identified Hale as a woman, some of the shooter's social media profiles suggest that Hale may have used he/him pronouns.

So essentially, some cops in Nashville have a manifesto (that we can't see) and a theory based on "he/him" on a social media profile.
I did find a photo of her in mens' clothes (tie, etc.) But not everyone who does that identifies as trans, obviously.

I still feel like they're spinning the fuck out of this.

They're saying the Nashville shooter was trans because she put "he/him" on a social media account. She was assigned female at birth and she went by Audrey.
I'm obviously NOT the arbiter of who qualifies as trans, so if I'm overstepping you're all welcome to tell me to STFU.
But didn't they pull this same shit after Uvalde?

For what, clicks?

I was reading that in order to comply with UK laws, they're going to deadname her on the death certificate.

It just never stops.

Netherlands is good. I know a guy who moved there, he loves it. Nobody gives a shit about other peoples business. As long as you're not fucking with people, throwing them in the canal or something, it's All Good.

If you want to reach new people, video is one of the easiest ways to do it, people love the meaty vlog style vids, or even shorter ones for generation ADD.

I have ADHD (and I wish it was a "generation". I might have got diagnosed before age 40) and I bloody hate the tendency for everything to be videos now, especially when I'm looking for a how-to for some quick thing—household fixes, how to do something or other in Photoshop, whatever. Text is skippable, skimmable, reread-particular-bits-without-fiddling-about-able, forget-and-refer-back-to-while-you're-doing-the-thing-able. I don't want to sit still through a 6-minute video and then forget it all immediately, when I could have found and read the relevant bit in 2.

This probably doesn't apply to less immediate and specific stuff like a potential BIP vid though. I liked scribbly's video script in the other thread, and I can see how that being a video could add things that aren't there in the text alone.

That's an ADHD symptom?
Uh-oh.

I mean, most of Tumblr sucks, absolutely. But it's still going to be an easier entry to the fediverse than Mastodon, since you know exactly what you're getting, exactly how to get it, and you aren't going to be effectively banned for breaking bizarre rules that nowhere else online has that are buried in a rules document that's functionally closer to a ToS in size and impenetrability than a list of rules.

Spoutible looks promising, at least in theory. The Bot Sentinel guy is building it.
Not getting my hopes up, everything has a way of turning to shit. And the word "safe" is kind of off-putting. But it makes a lot more sense than Mastodon.

on joining the right wing and the libertarians, I read something interesting today. In the Starseed Signals by Robert Anton Wilson, published posthumously from his writings in the 70s, RAW is constantly calling himself a libertarian. closer to the time of his death, as I recall, he said something like he doesn't hate the poor enough to be a libertarian, and that they are republicans who smoke dope.

RAW saw that too? Cool.
I remember reading at the Political Compass site that they differentiate between the Libertarian party and libertarianism itself. I score heavily libertarian there, but it's because I don't give much of a shit what people do if they aren't hurting anybody. Consensual "crimes" and whatnot. You can't give me that stupid party.
Maybe that's why RAW was calling himself that.

It tastes like wanting to feel better as a child.

Ah, yeah. For me that would be metallic Hawaiian Punch from a can. It's all "I don't have to go to school and Mom will fetch me anything I need." It's just sugar water and dye and fake flavoring. Quite possibly worse than Campbell's. But if they still put it in cans I'd probably keep some on hand for sick days.

Quote
I get it, but it's not nutrient dense. He consumed enough calories for the day at breakfast and lunch, not including snacks and dinner. I am no longer fucking around and he is no longer allowed to complain.

It sounds like nobody's at "Let him do what he wants." So there's that. It's not much but it's something.

Campbell's chicken and rice is basically salty water with bits of crap floating here and there.
Good to hear he's on the shakes, anyway.

Paxton should have been in prison like, eight years ago anyway. And nobody's stepping in to make that happen or stop this.
