Actually, the blog post's even more nonsensical than that. It's just a name for an alleged brainwashing model. If you read it all, you'll see gems such as
Quote3. Dark occult rituals are involved in the process
Just to clarify the nonsense and impertinence, of just this sentence:
dark and occult are roughly synonyms;
most models of occultism imply/assume that it taps into the subconscious--there are far better ways to assert the same idea;
ritual is essentially programming--what you do in the morning before coffee, is probably pretty automatic/programmed;
if magic worked--the statement seems to assume it does--then no such programming would be necessary, goddamnit.

Still, we could get some mileage out of this on GLP.
Just for laughs.

You obviously have not been exposed to the true genius that is Lady Gaga:

Seriously, watch the whole thing all of the way through. It is one of the most awe-inspiring performances that I've ever seen. I'm not kidding. I have watched it almost a dozen times now and it gets more awesome everytime. The fact that she was able to get away with this on MTV is just insane.

A lot of people have asked me that, and the fact is no... There are many bands out there I don't like but can still see them as muscians. But let's face facts... the 1960's was the best decade for music - everything was good, as everyone learnt music the proper way. Going to music lessons, music schools, and learning how to play instruments.

No, sorry. A musician doesn't have to know how to play or sight read - but live instruments do make music better than a digital track programmed into a computer. Computer prgorammed music is boring and predictable. Live music is unique. No computer will ever top that. I should also add, that computers are often used to edit out peoples bad vocals or playing, cut and paste in attempts to make the so called "artist" sound better than they are.

COmputer programmed music is boring and predictable? I can disprove that. After this post, I will. Also, normal #-track recordings (like were used IN THE 60S) are ALSO used to edit out badly recorded lines. Way to fucking fail.

He basically said, look Jay Z is in the Illuminati or some shit based off an article on this site http://vigilantcitizen.com (http://vigilantcitizen.com).
I basically was saying to him, the guy is a narcissist and thinks he's the shit, as is the attitude of every Hip Hop artist. Why wouldn't he want to make himself out to be some sort of major head in the international conspiracy/new world order?
Anyone ever hang out on this site.

He has no idea what music is.

Uh... .I don't listen to ICP.
I listen to actual music, such as The Beatles, Deep Purple, The Kinks, pretty much any 60's music and Classical.
You know, bands who know what music actually is.
Wait. So your personal taste dictates what is and is not real music?
A lot of people have asked me that, and the fact is no... There are many bands out there I don't like but can still see them as muscians. Jay-Z has as much talent as a spaz with down syndrome. Sit Jay-Z in a classic studio without a computer, just musical instruments and a tape recorder. The spastic wouldn't know what to do with them. Because he is a useless waste of space. He isn't a musician. He simply has no right calling himself one. Musicians know how to make music, not huge paragraphs of foul language that rhyme. You're the retard for liking that shit.
Also, what about STOMP that doesn't use lyrics OR conventional instruments? It's still fucking incredible and I'd call that music. Also, as far as computers not being a viable musical device, what about The Crystal Method or the Chemical Brothers? Or check out Assemblage 23, it's neither repetitive nor boring, and makes heavy use of computers.
What modern band doesn't produce to a certain degree, though? If memory serves The Smashing Pumpkins had a number of tracks where they recorded guitar track over guitar track over guitar track to produce that wall of sound effect.

You misunderstand - the 60's and all before it for hundreds of years were all excellent. I just state that the 60's is my personal favourite of those past decades. But when the 80's started, music became shitty. Some bands were good but the majority was not, and as time went on, it died.
All eras have shitty music. All eras have good and occasionally awesome music. Music doesn't depend on the equipment or the instruments as much as it depends on the artist to be able to communicate something to the audience.
That being said, Jay-Z sucks.

Hey, don't feel sorry for me; I'm able to listen to all sorts of music and enjoy it; you're stuck with little more than a decade's worth of material, and will miss out on the next sonic evolution.

I'm with ECH, but I'm bored so I feel like tossing some morsels at the troll - where did you spend your 6 years at music school, Latchingdon?
Berklee? Juilliard? Eastman? Myself, I went to Berklee, with a Music Synthesis degree (I actually DID go to "choking people to death with a MIDI cable" class - got an A too), with a focus on digital recording.
So, as someone with a piece of paper that apparently entitles me to an opinion in this "debate" (although it's different from the Rev here so it'll be dismissed for something or other), you're stupidly trying to present your opinion of music as fact, and coming across like a total ass.
Just thought you should hear it from someone you probably will dismiss anyway. Enjoy!
I think Latch is probably just jealous because a bitch is one of his 99 problems.

Quote from: Reverend Latchingdon on November 17, 2009, 07:45:12 PMThe 60's were a thousand times better than today, what the Hell are you talking about. You're just brainwashed liked the rest of todays generation. The media has led you to believe this rubbish of today is music. The only good band today are The Coral, and guess what? They write 60's style music and record it ALL IN ONE GO like a REAL BAND. Not in parts on a computer program like most idiots.
You know who else made music in parts? Beethoven, Wagner, Bach... the list goes on.
Quote from: Reverend Latchingdon on November 17, 2009, 07:45:12 PMWhen they used reel-to-reel tape recorders in the 60's to edit out bad shit, it didn't matter because the band themselves knew what the fuck they were doing, unlike anyone today. They editied out mistakes, not because they couldn't do it but because they fucked up... unlike nowdays, when the so called artist simply isn't up to the job.
That's not a double standard at all.
Quote from: Reverend Latchingdon on November 17, 2009, 07:45:12 PMJay-Z has as much talent as a spaz with down syndrome. You're the retard for liking that shit.

never mind, when I said "pretentious Berklee twat", what I should have said was "closed-minded retard".
also, pretty sure this guy is a troll. No one could actually be this stupid.
I should probably read to the end before I reply, but his whole spiel has the earmarks of a well-worn troll.

I really don't care how hard you try to make life for me here. I came here to help you with raids, not argue about music. But as in every forum I join, it became something big as usual.
"as usual" is a sign the problem is with you and you bring it everywhere you go.... not that every body else in the world has a taste in music that is inferior to yours..
Most likely you're right, but I can't help the way I think. And I feel the urge to post against modern music. Beleieve me, I try not to. But it seems I always do.

Wait, I'm curious.
Do you think Asperger's compels people to do stupid shit, or is that an excuse often used to cover for stupid shit?
If it's the former, personal experience says you're wrong. If it's the latter... fucking humans.

Agreed - thanks again.
Last piece of advice...just walk away from this thread, and read a bit. Then join in on another conversation, and drop the defensiveness. The rabid fucking animals here can smell it on you, and things get ugly, as you've just seen. Especially LMNO. He's a brute and a cad, and one day they'll lock him up for his own good. High time, too. The bastard can't be allowed near civilized folk, and society must be protected, after all.
It's a fair cop.
damn.
it's too late for me to reply to any of that.
oh well.

No it isn't. If you want we can keep the hate alive in our hearts.
If this thread represents how he actually feels about music: then I strongly dislike him on a personal level.

this. alot.
I think it has been resolved elsewhere, and Latch has submitted to the subjective.
As an aside, I'm not sure I get the comparisons between Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera. Having watched a couple of the former's videos, I'd say a comparison between her and Gwen Stefani is far more apt, especially concerning fashion.
Who's been making those comparisons?
The only similarities I can see is that they both can sing live during MTV performances, and not suck at it.
Basically (http://www.thepopsite.com/689952834/the-lady-gagachristina-connection/):
QuoteLady GaGa is one of those underground artists that quickly rose to the top with a catchy and addictive song, "Just Dance." If you ask me, Lady GaGa kind of has "one-hit-wonder" written all over her...or at least a novelty act that will disappear to everyone but the fans who were there from the beginning. Well, I might be wrong because she just announced a tour for her debut studio album "The Fame."
Lady GaGa is also noteworthy for her sense of fashion. But comparisons were made to Christina Aguilera. The two women kind of look similar and their fashion sense is similar. They both have blonde hair and bangs. They also dress in similar fashions. I think that this is a coincidence. Christina's hair, I believe, is naturally blonde. As for clothes, who cares? No matter what they say, they did not discover their fashions - a designer did, and the singers bought the clothes from said designer. It's also been said that the makeup style was copied from Gaga to Christina.
Fans of GaGa have been saying that Christina stole GaGa's look. Fans of Christina have been saying that GaGa stole Christina's look. I agree with Christina's fans because Christina was in the game for nearly a decade longer than Lady GaGa. And Christina went on record to say she had never heard of Lady GaGa before being asked about their similar styles. Apparently, she "didn't know if it [Lady GaGa] is a man or a woman." That comment was made this past December, eight months after "Just Dance" hit the airwaves. Ouch.
What do you think? Did either singer steal the look from the other? Or is it just a coincidence?

Oh, what the fuck.
The moment Xtina decides to try and make a wheelchair, crutches, and gouts of fake blood sexy, then I'll concede the point. Until then, blech.

too late, IMO. To me it represents less of an ill-informed opinion and more of a deep-seated character flaw.
Yeah... upon further reflection, I'm probably gonna keep milking this until 17 posts after the funnay has died.
