If you could go live in the universe from a video game, which would you choose?

I wouldn't pick hyrule, because as we can see in Zelda Ocarina of Time, everybody pretty much dies within 7 years.
In pretty much all of the Final Fantasy games, something comes and destroys everything. So I wouldn't want to live in any of those places.
Metroid? no way, we don't even see random citizens during these games, so you'd likely be a space pirate or something, which actually looks kind of bleak.
Mega Man? Definitely wouldn't want to live in that world, it gets taken over by robots every two years.
Castlevania? And get eaten by a vampire or his legion of undead? fuck that!

Those animals in Animal Crossing seem to have it pretty good, with all those kid protagonists slaving for them and such.

Chrono Trigger, as long as it was what constituted "present day". Cause all of the bad shit seems to happen in the past or future. The distant path had dangerous dinosaurs (probably no such thing as a non-dangerous dinosaur). The "medieval" times had Magus tearing shit up. Future saw Lavos killing most everyone and those left behind got their nutrition from what I would now describe as a Jenkem-machine.
Present day was pretty cool. Parties, people hanging around bars drinking all day, cool weapons and money just laying around on the ground. Talking frogs. What more could you want?

While I'll admit that the radio stations tend to have better music than ours, and more entertaining commercials they also have a very limited selection of songs that never change. I'll second that I wouldn't want to live there, although the average people do get to be car thieves, I've had my car jacked by NPC's several times.

In the beginning, yeah. Later, it's not worth the effort. The only person who does well for themselves in that game is CJ's sister. She never gets shot at, she never has to deal with all of the shit that's going on, and she manages a business.

Hmm, as much as it angers me, living in Pokemon world would be pretty cool. I would totally join team rocket.
Only issue with Pokemon is that there would probably be more vegans, and they would even be uppity about plants, considering every living thing is only steps away from having a personality and a face. Wait, scratch that. Nonliving things, too. I can see rock protesters gathering outside a gravel plant because a bunch of rock pokemon keep getting ground up in the mix, like dolphins in a tuna net.

i refuse to use that mod untill they use the mutable environment system from AC. I want to be able to starve my enemies by raising a mountain upwind (to block teh clouds and dry out their farmlands). And i want my nukes to leave craters.
I'm not sure if they have customizable units yet.

I'm going with the retro 80's kewlness of "Vice City". Kewl Cars, Music, My own Mansion, Golf Course on the Doorstep, lotsa hawt chix, The Lance Vance Dance, and the Awesome Lovefist! Even my own Porn Studo. I'll have to learn how to swim though.

Have it on my comp, still haven't been able to get into it. I guess I'm spoiled by San Andreas?
I thought vice city was the high point of the GTA series, San Andreas is great, but slightly too complicated, I just want to blow shit up.

Yeah, I love San An too, but it didn't have the polish, or the cocaine sparkle of Vice City. And all that dry, dusty, West Coast heat makes me kinda crazy.
I'm pretty sure the dude never spoke in Vice City. Seemed to make it more better somehow.

I haven't played Oblivion... but in Morrowind I always felt cities were really empty... somewhat dead...

I was going to say that one, but I was afraid that "average joe" would include being one of the actual statues, since they aren't really all that special except for the endboss, and he couldn't even walk.
That would just be too depressing, although at least when I get stabbed twice in the arm after mulling around a bit I'll just collapse into an empty husk and not feel any more pain. Still, looks sad anyway.
Being any other human would be nice though, what with the garden, and being able to actually walk up on that bridge again, and not being a retarded Romeo martyr.

My friend is strange ... she'll hijack a house (possibly with a person still living there) then try to rearrange the furniture and go around the world stealing forks and knives from the castle just to fix her dinner table... She shouldn't be allowed to play games! Too scared to attack anyone :lol:

and i arrange books and put out nice bowls :D

Yeah, Morrowind would suck all kinds of awful. It seems like a majority of the places you go are steeped in abject poverty or are just complete wastelands. Everyone is living in caves or weird plant things. There are annoying, lethal monsteres seemingly everywhere you turn. I suppose if you lived in one of the big fancy cities or castle things you'd be alright. Even then, it seems like it's just a matter of time before some big demon from hell gets set loose and eats everything.

I had a great empire going on with a number of houses and everything, until I progressed to a point where I had killed a homeowner that was related to a quest I needed to do. That "Belarus Manor" (I think it was called that) became my crib of cribs.
Usually I end up going on a mad spree for wealth via alchemy, stealing from the mages guild and making a bunch of crap potions that everyone seems happy to buy lol... The char I have now is over in Shivering Isles and I'm lugging around a ton of stuff, eagerly awaiting my return to dump it all off. I'd have every house in the game if I wasn't so paranoid that I'd kill an important NPC :)

Well yeah, but you'd be the scv that barely survives a nuke and decides to use the confusion to GTFO to your own place. I can just see you running like hell with your hands full of freshly mined crystal towards your secret supply depot Where you stored all your other stolen crystal and vespene gas. Your depot is surrounded by missile turrets and some Protoss cannons that you made your hacked Protoss probe warp in.
You even managed to get most parts of a tank's gun. You mainly use it to shoot at whatever critter dares to step on your lawn all the while screaming the name of your gun "Git Off Mah Lawn!"

Heh, I wouldn't mind Arkanoid. It'd be like Breakout, only with power-ups.
Right now all I can say is not the Red Dead "old west". Nigh everyone in that world is a shit head, and upon finishing the game, you only hope someone would invent nuclear weapons and make glass parking lots out of every area you've discovered.
