On a William Gibson related note: has anyone here read All Tomorrows Parties? I just picked it up and haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

Most excellent. I love that podcast to death. "Against the Logic of Submission" is a fantastic one too, especially for deprogramming anarcho-n00bs who think anarchism is the destruction of organized government and nothing else.

Well, we can ask ourselves this question: can we really expect anything other than a return to the old, when all we ever do is spin our proverbial wheels a bit?

Kill yourself. If you want everything to change and stay that way, take the whole bottle of sleeping pills or throw the radio into the bathtub. People are way too dumb for genuine change to occur. Party while you can, expand your mind while you've still got a brain, and enjoy youself as much as you can before the whole goddamn ecosystem collapses and the world's back to a hot sea of amino acids, waiting for a new race to fuck it up again.

(And I strongly suggest participation in all revolutions, regardless of misguidedness. You never know when my lazy nihilistic ass will be wrong.)

Havent a clue where the actual website is. Just look in the iTunes store for it. Or the magical powers of Google, if you hate Apple.

I once again have been floored by the awesomeness of one of your exploded essays/experiments/stories, Sepia. I really dig this one. It has a flow thats at once stuttery and filled with a sort of Kerouac-ish flow. I like the juxtaposition of the ideas of both the destruction of reality as a whole and the removal of all the honor of our fond memories of the martyrs who showed us how to expand our consciousness. (At least thats what I got from that.) Its a very honest and poignant portrayal of the emotions surrounding those ideas.  :mittens: for you.

I'm something of a fan of Situationism (aside from the Marxism), though I definitely need to read more of their stuff. A lot of their ideas on society as spectacle is really interesting. There's an audio reading of the essay Thoughts On the Society of Spectacle on the Audio Anarchy podcast, if anyone's interested.

Either that, or you decided to substitute a cheap shot for an argument.  Based on your posts so far, I think that's more likely.

On a related note, you've never rebuilt a car engine, have you?  I mean, since tools don't have standard actions, I imagine you found some way to use a socket wrench as a gear puller.  I'd be interested in any new insights you have...you know, like using a screwdriver as a torque wrench, etc.

God damn. You're either a brilliant troll, or a complete fucktard. (Just thought it was worth stating.)

Just to make sure we're on the same page here,ÄîI'm not saying hard work isn't an essential element to getting to the next level.¬†

Define "work". There are those (such as myself) that "work" is the antithesis of moving on spiritually, and immersing yourself in "work" is going to cause more problems then it solves. I place "work" in quotations because my idea of work is energy expended that isn't of your volition, which is seperate from being productive. Many people, when hearing "hard work", don't translate it as (and as I'm sure you all do) "being very productive and expending a lot of energy".

Have no fears Silly. I'm entirely aware of the risks of going med-less. But I strongly doubt that I even have what can be legitimately called bipolar disorder. I haven't had any symptoms in many months (and maybe a year, but my memory of the time I got off of the meds is really hazy) without meds, which either says I'm handling myself well or that I was just going through a very strange time in my life.

Which leads me to an interesting question: how does the BIP relate to mental disorders, and the diagnosis there of?

I think this lends credence to getting the thoughts out for all to see and add upon, desconstruct, reconstruct, and so on.

... if only people were looking. Damn you apathy of the internet!  :argh!:

If you had said, "Is love matter?" and asked some similar questions, I would've been satisfied. And that says "no" without being too complex or telling an 8 year old that God is nonexistent.

The BIP is its own thing. It will not and should not ever see print. That is the advantage of it. There are no concrete ideas, there are no concrete answers, there is nothing that can ever be built. It is a neverending catalyst of productive thought that would be self defeating if it were ever codified. The BIP is this board. It is an outshoot of discordian thought that is as much a method as it is a collection of ideas. The purpose shouldn't be to get anything concrete, but to simply spread the method and ideas out into other mediums.

*waits for what I said to get shot down*

Wow. I really need to stay at this forum more. One day and already 6 pages of brilliant brainstorming has surged past me.

(sorry, nothing else to say. Actual productive comments to follow)

LOL 'are' is the 64kilobuck question. Lets say I choose not to use the paradigm.

*loves that, and will now say something to the effect thereof when asked why I don't take pills*
