only 50kb so would make a fine emote. although I think it can be done better. I got all the cut-outs real nice (IMHO), but failed a bit on the smooth animation part. In case anyone wants to have a go, I got a higher res .XCF file (native GIMP format, which also saves the channels, masks, layers etc)

The pot roast that turned into beef curry has now officially turned into scouse.  And since scouse is magic and expands faster than you can eat it, we'll either have to freeze the rest or eat it indefinitely.

The pot roast w/veggies we had for dinner last night has been recycled by Liam into beef curry.
I'm making saffron rice to go with it, and we have sugar cookies for dessert.

Somebody gave me a venus flytrap a couple of weeks ago and it lives in a mummy-shaped mug the kitchen counter. It's fairly dark in our flat, but the plant's doing great.  And it's almost singlehandedly eaten up a massive fruitfly invasion. Giving it distilled water to drink seems to be the key.

Pretty amazingly awesome! I love my job and I have a 6-week vacation coming up in December/January. And I just got an impossibly cute dog. How's things for you?

That all sounds so great! I'm well happy for you. And also........puppy!!!! 

Things are good here, too, thanks. The job's driving me a bit crazy this week, but that's more than balanced out by the fact that I have chocolate, Liam gave me roses this morning, Sara's flown off to Germany on the holiday of her dreams, and my new best friend owns a medical canabis dispensary.

I want to read Unseen Academicals.  Anyone read it yet?  Good?  Bad?

We have that one on the bookshelf, but I'm waiting until I've read all the others first. My husband says that's the only way it will make sense to me. I'll be interested to hear what you have to say after you've read it, though.

Just started on Terry Pratchett...Read Thud yesterday.  Freeky loaned me a bunch of his stuff, and I'm going to the used bookstore to get all of the rest of it.

How have I managed to not read this guy for all this time?  He's a fucking GENIUS.

Yup, he's a genius, alright. I can't believe I managed not to read his books until recently, either!
I'm slowly working my way through the entire Pratchett library  via the kindle, which, as Liam said, has flown off to Germany with Sara.
Gutted! Until I figured out we could download our entire kindle library to the laptops. So it's back to reading Prachett again.

We received our letter a little bit ago and it took a while for us to think of a suitable response, well, revenge is more like it.

Package on the way for you!  We made it a literacy themed package, as is only fair and befitting your stature as a man of literacy. Because we really couldn't bring ourselves to write anything terrible to you we sent you horrible things that other people have written.  These books are very very "special." You're always saying, "Or Kill Me", and we figure this package just might do the job.

Liam's book is enclosed, of course. And we  may or may not have tossed in a copy of the best independent newspaper in America and several of the worst books known to mankind. The hardback was written by one of my cousins, and the newest paperback employs more cliched plot twists than I had thought possible. You'll love them. I promisssse.

We're fully expecting to read about it in the papers.
