I was tempted to start a new topic titled "The Malicious Prosecution of James Comey." But, I doubt this specific threat to our democracy will last long enough to warrant it. And, of course, this nonsense wouldn't be happening at all if every childish whim of the POSOTUS wasn't being unquestioningly validated by his cult following.

In any case, this article clearly sums up my thoughts and feelings on the subject:     I hate James Comey as much as anyone, but...

On Wednesday, I had some good laughs with people about the Rapture. But, I don't doubt there are gullible people out there who did take it seriously. Now, I'm wondering out many incidents like the one lampooned in this video clip actually did happen:     Going back to work after the Rapture didn't happen

Quote from: Mandelbrot Slapper on September 27, 2025, 09:41:49 AMHey I found the ad.

It was a Nancy Reagan backed campaign to keep the kiddies safe until Her husband & George Bush Snr could kill us all in a "Winnable Nuclear War" in which they estimated that only 9 million East Germans would die.
Yeah they said that.

The Beach Boys helped her run that Just Say No campaign btw. Oh how we laughed.

I don't remember that TV ad. But, in my defense, I watched very little TV back then. I do, however, remember the fried egg meme on T-shirts, and that's exactly what I was thinking of in my previous reply.

A popular T-shirt I remember, from back in the day, utilized the fried egg meme in a multi-panel design. I did a Google search, but couldn't find a current design that is all that close to the old one.

But, a design with a whole egg in the top panel.

Something like this fried egg graphic in the second panel :  This Is Your Brain on Drugs. Any Questions? Yummy Fried Egg Premium T-Shirt

And, of course, your text, would work.

It was an old just say no to drugs slogan from the 80s. Had a pan with a raw egg in it. Then a pan with a cooked egg. It was fucking retarded & we all laughed uproariously at it. Then went & took drugs.

I can't find the other thread I post music in so have this to be goin' on with. I cba looking any longer.

Discordianism attracts a strange crowd, and this place attracts a stranger crowd than most. I usually come to regret welcoming new people to the forum, but I see that you joined earlier this year, lurked until now, and chose to make your very first post about an actual facet of our religion. So, welcome to the forum!

It's not mandatory, but you may want to consider formally introducing yourself in the Introductions thread, that's pinned at the top of the Apple Talk board.

Being left-handed, and having tried both hands at fencing while, as the British say, "at uni," I can attest to the fact that the fencing part of the following article's title is true:

Left-handers rank high in fencing and table tennis

For a lefty fencing a right-handed person having little experience facing lefties, it's like fighting an unarmed person. I know that sounds ridiculous, but it's true.

On the other hand, two lefties fencing each other, both of whom have little experience facing our fellow lefties, is like a Keystone Kops movie scene. Most of the time, the two lefties barely touch blades, and end up trying to pummel each other with the guards of their swords. It's hilarious.
