I am stunned that anyone had a problem with AKK's banning. I am perfectly willing to wear the hypocrite hat in this instance and say that I wouldn't care if he didn't break any rules at all. For a minute I thought it might be funny to have him back; turned out it wasn't, because he just has to troll in EVERY POST and he's the Jeff Dunham of trolling.

Sometimes I think he's a collective with a script, because he's online trolling apparently 24 hours a day, and clearly barely read/skims posts before he responds to them so the replies are usually only tangentially relevant (that's MY technique, the fuckers).

I'm fine with him being gone. My sister can take care of herself (otherwise I wouldn't have extended an invitation), but he's a giant pompous douche bag, and that's not even counting the BS in the women thread. I stopped paying attention to him after he screeched "intellectual checkmate!" at me when there was no intellectual discussion going on, so I'm going to trust the admins' decision.

And on the Shoe Ears note, I only gave her a heads up that there was a dickbag reappearing so she would be aware of the potential shit storm that might erupt during her arrival.

Actually I've been going with that assumption for more than a couple of years now. Whenever I think he's being too quick to judge, I remember that 9 times out of 10 he turns out to be right in the end.

threatening to post porn is a bullshit reason to ban someone. Banning someone based on the fact that they are annoying as hell and have verbal diarrhoea, is more acceptable in my eyes. Either way, I wasn't invested in standing up for someone like AKK

That's kind of where I'm at with it as well.  If it were someone else I might be more concerned about banning someone over threatening to post something.  But as far as the other stuff, I really think he was playing a part.  He smelled blood in the water.  He knew what this group was expecting out of him because of the legend that has been built up around him.  He was giving the audience what it wanted. 

And I must really object to the earlier posts saying it is okay to ban some people because of stupid posting and not others.  Just because of who they are.  I'm not talking about the porn stuff, just the annoying posts.  I think either we do ban people because they are annoying or we don't.  It's what I have appreciated about this community as long as I've been here.  We have the nerve and the stones and the wit to put up with bullshit.  If we start to condone making arbitrary rules for banning (again, beyond the porn, PI, etc.) then aren't we basically taking a step (even if it is a baby step) towards that from MW and TCC that we abhor and rail against? 

I dunno, something to think about.

We haven't banned Uncle BadTouch.  If we haven't banned HIM, we're probably okay.
