So I'm prepared to accept for arguments sake that coming to an exclusively english speaking forum, that everyone posts in english on and posting in some other language (is it spanish or some shit?) is a perfectly acceptable way of making friends and communicating and not trolling in the slightests. I'm down with that on account of I'm at work right now and too drunk to really give a fuck or argue the toss but really? When you do post in english you post a bunch of slap-happy pinealist shite? Maybe not a troll but only if they're too fucking dumb to be.

Frankly, I think the fact that he's stuck around this long in the face of such seeming xenophobia means he might just have the potential to be a biped, even if he wasn't spat out of the vagina fully-formed and brimming with advanced intellect like everyone else here apparently was.

I think the idea of having more non-english discussion is fine, if we can attract enough people who all speak the same language. The thing is, most likely what will happen is that there will be several different languages so, since the point of thew forum is to communicate, everyone will end up falling back on a shared language, which might be Spanish but let's face it, it probably won't be.

Completely aside from that, if someone told me that I don't see the fnords and should shut up, I would definitely take that as license to bust their balls. As I believe you probably would as well.

I'm perfectly willing to have several different language-specific subforums as long as it gets those people HERE and posting and trading/absorbing ideas. Maybe some of them will even be curious enough to learn some basic english so they can dig on the rest of the site. I agree with you, ECH, FTR. I am still unsure about Khore, which is why I have been avoiding his/her threads, except the one where infinityshock decided to pop in.

I think it would be awesome to have discussions from different linguistic and cultural views. The one issue I see... is that, as it has been pointed out, as we have a predominantly English speaking user base, it might difficult to attract people who either don't speak English, or don't speak English well enough to allow for meaningful communication across the language barrier. But I do not think that the language barrier should necessarily be a problem. I mean, If I had more time, I'd try to parse through Khore's Spanish posts (been a long time since high school, but I got me a dictionary and google translate, so I think i could make it through).

If you create a Spanish subforum you need to first create it, I think.
Maybe do not wait for more spanish people in an english forum.
It's not important what people think of me, only important what I think of myself. And of course, the normal principle is that people think I'm a troll. It's what you get when nobody knows you and you start heavy.

I honestly don't think it matters at all. What could it possibly hurt? As long as the board doesn't institute a bilingual posting rule I don't care and I didn't notice anyone else really giving a shit either.

Odds are that what will happen is that it will get a few posts and then after a while no one will use it, but you never know.
