Rant for Holist

The Good Reverend Roger

It has been remarked on this board that I am not an upbeat person...And that I should change that.  Far be it from me to deny You People whatever it is you think you want, so here now I present the kinder, gentler Fidel (again, for what, the 10th time?):

I was listening in to the news on the way in to work this morning, and gosh, it looks like something, well, unpleasant might occur between Israel and Iran soon.  What's more, it might even mean that America might somehow get some yucky stuff all over its hands and its flag again.  I found this to be mildly distressing.  It's even possible that someone or some people might get hurt.

I mean, I'm not saying that we aren't led by reasonable men; this of course being the best of all possible worlds.  I am saying that perhaps they didn't really pay attention to each others' concerns as much as they could have, and maybe their Feng Shui is all out of balance.  Perhaps they could go to a chiropractor and see if there's any pressure on the organ that makes their decisions, and maybe get an adjustment.

At this point on my drive, I was passing through South Tucson, and I couldn't help noticing that the people down there are less furnished than in other neighborhoods that I have seen.  It's for the best, naturally.  Poverty builds character, which is why they are all noble.  My doctor told me this, while he was telling me how much to think this month, and what.

Once I got to work, it became apparent that my co-workers have made some less than optimum decisions.  When asked about it, they became somewhat irate or even upset about the situation.  Perhaps they need some rolfing or maybe a colonic.  In any case, I decided to go with the majority.  What could go wrong, in this best of all possible chemical refineries?

My doctor says that this outlook is much healthier for me, and that I should continue it.  He also gave me the GREEN pills and the YELLOW pills and took away the RED pills, so that's a good sign.  And injustice is so wearisome and depressing.  I'm sure our elected officials will get things sorted.  That's why we hired them, right?

That's all for now,
Man Yellow

"Billy, when I say that ethics is our number one priority and safety is also our number one priority, you should take that to mean exactly what I said. Also quality. That's our number one priority as well. Don't look at me that way, you're in the corporate world now and this is how it works."

I'd like to hug the world and take it to a giant Wayne Dyer seminar.
And then give everybody those little pyramids that used to be around, that were supposed to keep your razor blades sharp.

I wrote this for Holist, and he has left without commenting.

How very puzzling.

Now he's left for another thread.

I am beginning to think the Kinder, Gentler Fidel isn't working out so well.

I am in fact beginning to think that "you need to be more upbeat" = "stand still while I shit on your head".

Perhaps he left to go post in the best of all possible threads?

Whichever thread you are in is, or course, the best of all possible threads.

I mean, I can write a more upbeat, cheerful rant if you'd like.

If it's not too much trouble, I for one would like to read it.

Okay, but remember that you asked for it.  Maybe today, maybe tomorrow.  I just have to think up something NICE and CHEERFUL to write about.

No, no, that's not what I meant at all! Can you rant about the same things in a more upbeat, cheerful manner?

Oh, yeah.  I can definitely do that.

Actually, I think it's a fail. The deal was not that you'd go into denial, feebly rationalising away your deepest fears and worries. The deal was that you would face them, fair and square, AND rant about them in a more upbeat, cheerful manner.

Practice makes perfect.

And no, I don't want to shit on your head. I didn't even tell you to be more upbeat, it was your idea. I was just wondering about why you were so... Roger.

Does it not also stand to reason that I am in the best of all possible pance?

Freeky

I think maybe he wanted a rant (an upbeat one, mind you) about the weather.
