I really dont think you should continue going to Sonora, seriously.

There are only two places I'm willing to pass thru or visit, and those are Distrito Federal and Querétaro, or Tijuana (but only because thats my birthplace, and no, not by bus, i get there by airplane).

I mostly go to Nogales.  And the day I'm afraid to go somewhere...?  May as well be dead, at that point.  I'm not a tough guy, I just don't scare much.  It's not a survival trait, but it's worked for me so far.

Pretty shitty case, but how i perceive it is "A minion of our 1st world overlords can't and shouldn't be held to the same standards that we 3rd worlders live by", so meh.

Will read tomorrow.

But it is an article of faith with me that I live by the laws of a nation I am visiting.  If their laws are so odious that I cannot do that, then I will not go.

For the record, I go to Sonora all the time.

OH, and btw, Distrito Federal =/= Estado de México

Would you kindly translate the cartoon into English for us merkins?

Judging by the segment of the movie it's from and what Spanish I know.

Everything the light touches belongs to the Federal District, USA, I'm assuming? And Simba asks about the shadowy area. Mufasa says that's Mexico, don't ever go there. :P

"Look Simba. Everything the light touches its the Federal District.

Wow.

But, and that place with shadows?

That's Estado de México, you must never go there."

As i said, Mexico State =/= Federal District.

Mexico state is one of the highest feminicide ratio places in the country, with frequent kidnappings and just overall nasty stuff... the Federal District on the other hand is the capital and the economic heart of the country and has the highest police to population ratios, thus, making it one of the last safe bastions.

Are there unofficial curfews there? You should respect those. Although i ran a search and didnt find that they are happening.

Its just that all states except the ones i mentioned are pretty much left for dead, their only saving grace is that they might not be an important trafficking route, or the people are too poor to be worth extorting.

I make a point of being long gone by then.  While I'm no chickenshit, I'm not outright stupid, either.

And Nogales is a terrible place, in the way you mention.  It is full of great people, who are also unfortunately fucked by the gangs, the government, and now and then shot from across the border by the Nazis in our border patrol.  No shit, they really do that.

I'll wait till you get around to checking Florence Cassez  :lulz:

We'll actually never get to know if she was actually guilty or not just as this Maldonado by reasons that soon will become obvious.
