All respect garnered, now lost

http://www.freezepage.com/1316946110GKMPAPSHBN (so you don't have to visit the mail itself).  This stuff, this is pure Breivik style material.  A sample:

QuoteMost of us may not realise this but the ideological Left certainly does, for it has long been part of its grand plan to destroy Western civilisation from within. The plan's prime instigator was the influential German Marxist thinker ('the father of the New Left') Herbert Marcuse. A Jewish academic who fled Germany for the US in the Thirties, he became the darling of the Sixties and Seventies 'radical chic' set.

He deliberately set out to dismantle every last pillar of society – tradition, hierarchy, order – and key to victory, he argued, would be a Leftist takeover of the language, including 'the withdrawal of toleration of speech and assembly from groups and movements which promote aggressive policies, armament, chauvinism, discrimination on the grounds of race and religion, or which oppose the extension of public services, social security, medical care etc'.

In other words, those of us who believe in smaller government or other 'Right-wing' heresies should be for ever silenced.

Author is one of the nuttiest Torygraph/Mail writers, James Dellingpole.  No surprise there, in some ways, he's always been on the really far right in the UK, as far right as one can be without being considered BNP and banished from respectable society, anyway.

But seriously, these kind of long, meandering essays on "cultural Marxists" who are trying "to destroy the West from within" through the use of "political correctness" are EXACTLY the kind of thing Breivik was raving about in 2083, shortly before he decided slaughtering 60+ kids would be a good idea.

Jewish Cultural Marxists to boot. God bless the Guardian for pulling back the curtain on this Zionist conspiracy to corrupt our values.

I always thought the idea of Cultural Marxism was amusing, especially when they bring up the Frankfort School.

You see a bunch of Communist Psychoanalysts got together and decided that the best way to destroy capitalism was to review movies and books. Thats why when you take a film studies class you have to answer "What was the role of women in this film?"

OBVIOUSLY that means whenever anyone asks for any rights ever its not because they actually want rights, its because theyre trying to destroy western civilization with Handicapped Rails and women in the workplace.

Glittersnatch would be a rather unfortunate condition, if a halfway decent troll name.

The Daily Mail literally cannot tell the difference between porn and child porn:

HuffPo (barely better than the Daily Mail):

QuoteThe Metropolitan Police says it is "liaising" with the Daily Mail after a journalist wrote about visiting child pornography sites.

Specialist officers are in discussion with the paper after the article headed 'My journey into the hell that is internet child porn', was published.

In it, Amanda Platell described how she used the same search terms as Stuart Hazell, who was jailed for life for the murder of schoolgirl Tia Sharp.

"During the past two harrowing days, I have discovered how easy it is to enter Hazell's world," she wrote, setting out the search terms she used to bring up obscene footage of young children.

Just one problem with that.  The clip Platell watched was from 'Extreme Teen 17′, a mainstream American porn film undertaken by a well known director in the porn industry and with an actor who was at least 19 at the time based on IMDB info, and positively identified her age as being over 18 in the clip itself.

But she was dressed as a schoolgirl.  So, you know...CHILD PORN OMG WTF WHY WONT GOOGLE BAN THIS SICK FILTH?

Wait, what?

When did you praise the DM? Did you have some kind of stroke or something?
Nine naked Men just walking down the road will cause a heap of trouble for all concerned.

Cain

Ha.  No, they did some rather good work on Libya, pointing out how closely we cuddled with Gaddafi when it suited us, and revealing that police control orders were put on Libyan dissidents at the request of the previous regime.

Junkenstein

I must have missed that between the swimsuit spreads of Harry Potter actors.

The latest lunacy from the Daily Mail (via another site, as not to link directly):

http://barthsnotes.com/2013/06/25/daily-mail-claims-kgb-responsible-for-rise-of-islamic-extremism/

QuoteNew book reveals how KGB operation seeded Muslim countries with anti-American, anti-Jewish propaganda during the 1970s, laying the groundwork for Islamist terrorism against U.S. and Israel

The highest-ranking Soviet-bloc intelligence officer ever to defect to the West claims in a new book that anti-American Islamic terrorism had its roots in a secret 1970s-era KGB plot to harm but the United States and Israel by seeding Muslim countries with carefully targeted propaganda.

...Those claims come from former Romanian Lt. Gen Ion Mihail Pacepa and University of Mississippi law professor Ronald Rychlak.

And you know what else is a Communist plot?  UR MOM LOL.

Sadly, of course, this is wrong in at least one particular (the Protocols thing) and we all know from history that in fact the USA was promoting Islamic fundamentalism in the region in hope of undermining the appeal of Communism.

Which is not to say the Soviets didn't try some of it themselves.  After all, the Soviet policy was, at times, very flexible, and they were willing to work with third world liberation movements so long as their acts would be to the detriment of the Western powers.  But, at the same time, in the Middle East, it was mostly the nationalistic/Marxist liberation groups, like the PFLP, who did the most harm to Western interests.

There is, of course, also the question of Islamic agency, which tends to be ignored by those who blame the USSR and those who blame the USA.  After poor showings in the wars against Israel and the various problems of pan-Arab nationalism, Islamic fundamentalism seemed like a workable alternative.  And this was massively boosted by the Iranian revolution, which had no real support from the Soviets (the Marxists were excluded from Khomeini's umbrella group) and, of course, no support from the USA either, though SAVAK's heavy handed assassinations of more moderate opposition leaders can be partially laid at the feet of the CIA.

It also seems to be another depressing exercise in describing how Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.  Like the lists circulating the conservative internet a few years ago, that incorrectly described most Palestinian terrorism as "Islamic terrorism" (Fatah are socialists and nationalists by self-description, for example).  The West has always warred against Islamic extremism, and there is certainly no element of blowback involved whatsoever.

And finally, as the author of the blog piece notes, the writer of the article is none other than "David Martosko, a controversial figure with a background in corporate PR before being taken on at the Daily Caller (see this profile in Mother Jones). Martosko's appointment with the Mail earlier this year appears to be part of a strategy to get traffic from US conservative websites".  Which is certainly worth knowing about.
