super-nerdy, autistic theater geek ... unbearably needy and entitled.

Sounds like every other Dr Who fan, to be honest

Yeah, pretty much.

He just a few minutes ago made it abundantly clear that he intends to contribute nothing to his own upkeep this weekend. He isn't even here to visit me, he just asked for a place to crash for the con.

Classy.

This is a good reminder of why I have next to nothing to do with my mother's side of the family.
"I'm guessing it was January 2007, a meeting in Bethesda, we got a bag of bees and just started smashing them on the desk," Charles Wick said. "It was very complicated."

He asked if I have a color printer, because he wants to print a few posters.

I am not sure the "college student single mom" part of my reality has registered with him.

Kefir is so god damned delicious. Its also one of the few beverages that doesn't fuck my guts up.

The champagne of dairy! Says so on the bottle! Says so!

Little Orange's reaction to the church renovation:

"It's about time someone painted it black".

:?

Stones fan?

I doubt she knows they exist...

This must be remedied.

She'll just get that damn song stuck in her head all the time like I do.

Parental revenge, ITT.

Twidsister used to love it when I would drive her around and play Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. I suspect she would listen to it now for nostalgia purposes.

My daughter listens to everything from Leslie Gore and Patsy Cline (paleolithic emo) to whatever bands are big these days (I've recently lost track, and even more recently stopped caring).

Twidsister loves Pink and other things I'm unfamiliar with. I remembered we were trying, in her teens, mind you, to recapture that musical commonground (mostly impossible). I discovered that Soundgarden bored her, but she quite liked RATM. To the extent that I know she still has my copy of Battle of Los Angeles, deny it though she will.  :lulz:

Soundgarden makes me want to punt hamsters into traffic.

It's a born after 1980 thing.

That makes sense.

There are a couple of Soundgarden tunes I like, but as the "Seattle Sound" went, i thought they were one of the least interesting bands, maybe slightly more interesting than Pearl Jam.

I was more into the actual, raw, "grungey" bands like Mudhoney and of course Nirvana.

I liked Pearl Jam for maybe the first several months after getting into music in general (believe it or not I didn't particularly care for it prior to hearing Nirvana. Probably because most of what I listened to up til that point was pop music that mom listened to and dad's AM radio Irish Folk. And nothing sounds good on AM radio). They quickly began to irritate me after that.

I love that stuff. ALso just discovered that Oikos makes dip, which means that my raw veggies were extra tasty tonight.

Ten was their best album.  Vs and Vitalogy were good.  They've been tepid crap ever since.

Though I think their two best tunes were State of Love and Trust from the Singles soundtrack and their cover of Sonic Reducer.

I have a nice bottle of shiraz, which I am allowing myself two glasses of, in honor of having stomped all up and down Alameda Ridge for the last two hours. My ass is sore.

I also made 200 beads. No slouching today. In the morning, it's off to the farms to stock up on squash.

I owned Ten and Vs. I got Vitalogy for Christmas, but I think I traded that one in. No... My cousin had Vitalogy, and I got Yield for Christmas one year. Think I still have it, but never listened to it.

:checks:

Yep. Still have it.

:looks at tracklist:

Do the Evolution was a decent song. The video was way better than the song.

Oi!

You know I'm right.  Just hit #drwho on Twitter and tumblr and see for yourself.

TBH, I never understood the fascination with the new series.  The actors are fairly decent, but the writing is terrible, Moffat aside.

My brother is caught up in the midst of some Dr. Who screenplay he wrote, and yeah.

Ten is overrated. Vs, Vitalogy, Yield and Riot Act are usually my go-to Pearl Jam albums, Even the hated No Code is enjoyable for me. They are my favourite band since about 1994 though. Also, they are amazing live. I enjoy the later changes in style, you can't remake Ten for 22 years.
