Ugh, i hate the "lots of people agree with me that you are X" bit. It is double cowardice, first the accuser apparently needs a posse to feel tough enough to open his mouth and secondly once the mouth has opened it won't name names. IF YOU WEREN'T GOING TO NAME NAMES YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE MENTIONED THEIR OPINION AT ALL! Jeez, you can't retroactively start respecting your posse's privacy after you used their consensus to bolster your position. That is just a dick move against the accused as well as against your posse.

Yep.  In addition, it was designed to hurt...and it did.

But the hurt is over, replaced with a vast and malicious mirth, on top of a big steaming pile of apathy with respect to feelings of the people in question.

"Billy, when I say that ethics is our number one priority and safety is also our number one priority, you should take that to mean exactly what I said. Also quality. That's our number one priority as well. Don't look at me that way, you're in the corporate world now and this is how it works."

I wish i knew the trick to that. I tend to get stuck in the dirt hurt. I think i ran out of apathy at a certain point, I must've used it all up as a teen.

I went to lunch with a colleague from across the road.  We got laughing, and all the hurt drained away.  All that was left was malice.

Also, a little admiration for the rotten shit BDS pulled, but this in no way excludes him from said malice.

Further discussion should probably be routed to Monad's thread.

Oh thank god, there's a sliding scale clinic that should help with 75-100% of the cost based on my income. Thanks fucking christ.

Yeah, so part of my reaction today wasn't based on PD, it was based on work.

My boss, though I give him loads of shit, is someone I have respected for 7 years.

Today, though, he lost his shit when some parts were bad.  Instead of waiting to see what happened, he went off about my guys "not being able to find their asses with two hands and a hunting dog."

Later, when the evidence overwhelmingly pointed at the vendor, he lacked the stones to apologize.

I no longer care about my job.

That is shit. It sucks that this happened. Clearly he got his head stuck somewhere it shouldn't be. Up his own ass or someone else's.

TGRR, he may also be incredibly stressed. A gentle reminder that he wasn't cool when he did that to you could be in order, possibly.

If he's still being a tool, all bets are off.

Nope.  He knows better.  I could see it on his face.  He just lacked the strength to open his fucking gob and apologize.

He said:

QuoteI mostly just meant that there were several people on IRC who said things to the effect of "well, you kind of have a point, but your tone was absurd, and to post on PD telling everyone that they're doing it totally wrong is just trolling'.

About forum software.  AND.  AND.

QuoteLike, I think maybe there is an interesting discussion to be had somewhere about different kinds of forum software and different discordian communities and such, but obviously just going LOL UR DOIN IT RONG is a dick move.

Given the original context and subject of the thread whose sentiments several people agreed with, the bolded section isn't exactly the Voynich manuscript, if ya dig.

What I'm getting is that there are Discordians here, who don't seem to mind the shenanigans.  And there are Discordians who were formerly here, that feel that myself and a few others ruin fucking everything.

And this is what Discordianism has come to mean to me over the last few years:  What horrible shit I am responsible for THIS TIME.  I doubt I am the only "culprit", but I do know that the stress levels in my life are affecting my health, and this shit suddenly isn't reducing those levels, but raising them.

Several people I liked and used to hang with have once again decided the same old same old.  And I don't even know who they are.

Fuck this.

I'm not saying this to be flippant or dismissive, but why do you care what they think? I sure as fuck don't.

They can't take a joke. And you know how that line goes.
