I feel people miss the point.

Freedom and enlightenment, some meta-physical state of mind acheived by transcending mortal troubles and tribulations to achieve some pure state of mind and a sense of one-ness with the universe?

Nah, that's kinda boring.

You do not need to destroy the system, do not need to be at war with the system, do not even have to give a flying fuck either way about the system.

The system is about power, control, domination. the basic principles of Human nature since we learnt that pointy sticks do nasty things to people we don't like.

You can not beat the system, can not fight the system. It's too big, too organised, too powerful. They want you to fight the system, that way they know your doing something that can not achieve any desirable goal. In the long run when you finaly realise the system wins, your idealism becomes disilusionment and you become a slave to system, beaten, destroyed, souless.

The trick is to use the system. Face it ladies and gentlemen the system is raping you, forcing you down, spreading your legs and ramming home till you scream.

Try leaning back, opening those legs of your own accord, guiding that big bastard in. Now you have him where you want him, whisper sweet nothings, gently roll over on top and ride that son of a bitch hard and fast. on YOUR terms.

As I said before:

Live every moment as if it is your last. Take each breath with the realisation there will not be another. With every moment simply allow yourself to die and be reborn into the next.

Thus we break the cycle and embrace true freedom and enlightenment, you are dead, get over it.

Every time the system rapes me a little part of me dies and I let it go. I am violated each and every day, violated by the society i live in, the rules that govern me and the system to which we are forced on our knees to pay homage to.

In our history all the bloodiest revolutions merely replaced one corruption with another. When we choose to fight we become soldiers, we become the tools of autocracy and we eventualy become the system mark 2. We figt for a cause, an ideal, a philosphy and in this fight it become politicised and is transformed from a pure ideal into a baby-killing monster.

So I say again when the system comes knocking on your door for it's pound of flesh, when it tries to arse-fuck you till your singing soprano. Just lean back and let it and in doing so take control. Ride the system people don't let the system ride you.

We can spread the love of discordianism within the system, spread the rot like some vile STD. Let it's own lust for power and dominantion kill it.

We are the plague carriers, we are the poor, downtrodden rape victims that carry the syatem's version of AIDs. Spread the disease people, kill it from within.
It's not so much that we fear the Wolf that howls outside, we fear the Wolf that howls within our soul.

While I enjoy the self-destructive passive nihilism, it seems like that might simply be an excuse not to care when our government systimatically rapes the earth and slaughters innocents.

And I, for one, refuse to be such a callous bastard as not to care.

PS - Do you read a lot of Grant Morrison?

Wolfpoet

I appreciate the pain and loss involved. I've taken wounds for the cause, if I was a colonial i'd of earned my cute little purple heart.

It's why i let myself die every day, it's why i accept the fact that each moment is my last.

Only way i can get up in the morning and face the hell that is this lovely world.

Ironic that the only way a person can truly live is to die each time he breathes.

You seriously think I don't care? Think I'm lost in self-destructive, passive nihilism?

I just take a more realistic view of this stuff. To think any of us can change a system that has existed for thouasands of years is pure fantasy.

Jesus, Ghandi, Martin Luther King. What happened to them? What happened to their dreams and ideals? Soon after their deaths their respective causes become forgotten or perverted.

You are NOT going to change the world, you are NOT going to win. You are NOT going stop one country fragging another and murdering innocents tillt eh blood stains the streets red with their pain.

What you CAN do is make a little differenc to your life and the immediate lives around you. It won't make a great difference, it won't ever be enough to change the world at large or society. But it will change you.

If you want to change the world, change yourself.

As much as the system fucks me I help others around me. I be a nice guy, open doors for ladies, buck the system in little ways, challenge modern morality with my own actions and beliefs. Hell i may get martyed along the way, cast to the wolves and beatn for what i hold true. But it's not about changing the world, it's about changing who you are.

Fucked up evangelists crusade, messed up Muslim jihadis try to make sweeping changes. All YOU have to do is make changes in yourself, if somebody notices and follows suit then so much the better bu it doesn't realy matter. How you live and die is what matters.

What, where you imitate what you read without knowing?
One by one, we break the sheep from their Iron Bar Prisons and expand their imaginations, make them think for themselves. In turn, they break more from their prisons. Eventually, critical mass is reached. Our key word: Resolve. Evangelize with compassion and determination. And realize that there will be few in the beginning. We are hand picking our successors. They are the future of Discordianism. Let us guide our future with intelligence.

Well, maybe it's your specific writing style, but it sounds like your idea of "changing yourself" is to slowly die as you passively let the System (tm) fuck you in the ass.

Then again, maybe I'm just more attracted to the whole "NON SERVIAM" thing.

Some days I feel this way, this apathy at not caring about anyone but myself. And it IS apathy, cause you don't change SHiT that way. Its as bad as the emos. I know, cause I find myself acting emo some days. I have written rants exactly like this one, advocating the same thing; I know how this all works.

But, hey, if you want to go with it, fine right? But then, why are you so uptight about preaching to us?

I think people are missing the point... I think I can get where Wolfpoet is coming from.

The basic flaw I see in most of your interpretations of this is the assumption that death is negative. Death doesn't have to be negative, it only is if you let it be, I think this is the message Wolfpoet is giving.

What he is saying is that the first step to taking the system head on is to stop fearing death, stop giving a damn about material things, and start acting Right, if you Do Unto Others and all that, that is a step towards making the people around you aware of the shit that they put themselves and others through without even realizing it.

I could be totally misinterpreting what he is saying, but that is what I think he means.

Also... I think he sounds agitated because people don't seem to get where he is coming from, which- you gotta admit- is pretty darn annoying.
I had an existential crisis and all I got was this stupid gender.

Wolfpoet

It's not so much about preaching to anybody. It;s about trying to articulate my worldview in a way others understand.

I'm not saying my way is the only way or the best way. I'm just trying to get across what my way actualy is.

There is no truly right or wrong path or way. No one true path to salvation as it where.

Truth, enlightenment, ultimate acid trip whatever you choose to call it. All paths willeventualy lead there is followed with conviction and determination.

Unfortunately it seems I come across as preachy, if that be the case I apologise it's not my intention.

I don't so much allow myself to die and submit to the system. It's not the case, however I willa dmit I'm more used to symbolic and metaphoric writing so things may come across that way. My philosphy has evolved from my background as does everyone elses.

My Father was RAF, by religion I'm catholic and being English I live in a fairly regimented society. Even with today's era of civil liberties and Human rights this nation is still one bound by tradition and custom. But younger generations consistently erode that for good or ill.

I have always been brought up deeply within a system of accepted moral behaviour, regimenetd lifestyle and belief. A military upbringing does wonders for giving a person a real insight into the system that slowly tries to strangle our creativity.

Thus my wolrd view began tightly closed and slowly evolved to accpet the unacceptable. Everything I had ben taught to beilieve was in facta  tool by a repressive society to constrict and control the masses. Quite an eart shattering event and rather soul destroying.

So i evolved a philospphy to cope with this and to try and make changes in what i see as a fundamentaly flawed society. Studying history gave me insight into how this system has always been in place and how it deals with radicals that buck the system. At best you get shot, at worst they nail you t a tree.

So i came to the conclusion that large, society changing events and actions do not actualy work. Even if by some freak act of fate i end up being the new martin luther King or Ghandi and effedt some real and fundamental change in society it'll not last long after my death.

So i just change my own worldview, do what i can to stop myself becoming a souless sheep, part of the herd. I let the system fuck me and take what it wants. Tax me, tell me what I should think, what I should say. I sarcasticly say yes sir, no sir, thank you very much sir, shall I spread my butt-cheeks now sir? Then I trow my best salute and walk away.

The system can enforce itself on me, it's what the system does best. But as stated by many revolutionaries in the past "You can take my land, you can take my words, you can even take my freedom. But you can not take my soul."

I do my thing, my way. No matter what the system does to me, no matter what the system does to the world or it's people. It can not change me, can not turn me into it's slave unless I allow it to.

When I say I die with each breath it's a philosphical view. Tomorrow the tax Man cometh, tomorrow the government announces some new soul destroying measure, tomorrow a multi-national corporation fucks up the world just that little more.

Right now, right here, I live. I breath and that breath is in defiance to all that the system represents.

Sure it's not some radical, world changing event. But If I can keep in mind that each moment of my life is MINE i can face the shit that get's thrown at me.

The next breath you can steal mister system, the next moment you can take from em. But THIS breath, THIS moment is mine and I will rejoice in that freedom.

Thus I die withe each breath. A tad abstract but I'm a poet and it's how I think.
It's not so much that we fear the Wolf that howls outside, we fear the Wolf that howls within our soul.

I dunno... I think what he just described is quite a nice, neat Discordian view. For Lo, did Eris not say unto her children, "You are Free."? The entire basis of this little rag-tag thing we call discordianism is freedom, and deciding that you are going to selfishly claim every moment as being yours seems... well, a step in the right direction.
I had an existential crisis and all I got was this stupid gender.
