I just don't believe this site is any different from any other site.

Missed this somehow.

If this is the case, then why are you here, instead of, say, somethingawful or capitol grilling?

I HATE politics.

So do plenty of people here, which is why politics is relegated to it's own little hellhole, so we junkies can wallow around in it without disturbing the civilized folk.

Now, if by "politics", you mean "the art of controling your environment", rather than "the usual partisan games played by our non-existant government" then this definitely isn't the board for you, because the bare essence of this board is "how to function in a world not designed for the convenience of domesticated primates".

However, I'm fairly certain you won't be back, judging from your post.  Perhaps it was just the alcohol, but the tone of your post indicates an unwillingness to stand on your hind legs, and a sort of contempt for those who try to.

The other question is, "do you want your thoughts/posts to be challenged?"

Often, people will have radically different viewpoints, or occasionally a different degree of knowledge than you.

They will not hesitate to call you out if the disagree or think you're wrong.

If you take the example of Ben Mack, his viewpoint was that existence is a series of memes and various forms of marketing.  When he came here, he expected us to treat his views as gospel, and was quite upset when we decided to deconstruct his thesis, and argue the hell out of it.

The "passive audience" doesn't exists at PD.com; one of our unifying traits (most of us, anyway) is the desire to take ideas apart, and really burrow down into it.

Yes, we are like crackhead monkeys given a tool set.  Muhaha.  Poor old Ben.

I really want to know if this is a place I can be me or if it  really is a club, like it seems to be.

it is what you make of it.

you will be engaged in several different feedback loops. the trick is to modify your input/output until the feedback loops deliver the signal you want. It's not as hard as it sounds.

the real question is - does it matter to you if you get flamed?

I'm not a real person you know, I'm just some text on a screen. I'm a sound in your head, imaginary, ephemeral. I can't affect you unless you choose to let me in.

So what have you got to lose?

The Good Reverend Roger

Stop lying, Cram.  The reason you don't exist is that the mustache is the real Cram...it just uses corpses for a vehicle.  When a body gets too rotten, you charge into someone at the mall and plant one on 'em, and the mustache moves to the new host.

We're on to you, you monster.

Telarus found the best deal I can locate:

So looking around, I can find them for $0.46/each here if I order more than 27 @ a time: http://www.houseofchuckles.com/moustaches-beards.htm (#PC-0040 )

Most websites won't sell them in bulk, if you know of anywhere else I can get these at a good deal in bulk, let me know.

under 50c apiece is a great rate for these things, which usually retail at 4 or 5 bucks. Buying them by the box ensures that you and all your asshole friends will be extremely conspicuous in style

Sweet.  I can't see the link, though, from this computer.  Are they both large and obnoxious?  I am uninterested in anything less.

They are the  magnificent "6-way" moustaches that Cram sports. I ordered 30!
