Nigel! I am but a mere speck in this microcosm called discordia, and I will not claim to know or understand what "the deal is," but for what it's worth, you are among my favorite people (not just here). You were one of the first people that responded to my n00bishness with a positive response, and for that, I thank you.

I will offer no pity (it irks me to offer pity, as well as receive it) and instead, I will try to be a good pal to you. I wish you good luck and a speedy recovery! There are some truly awesome people here that have your back. Return to them when you're ready!

Agreed with OP.  Whatever's said or taken to ego is nothing.  It's not worth loosing contact with a worthwhile and intelligent person over.  We'll be around, no questions, no apologies.
