If it helps, there is a state police barracks in Alfred, Maine.  And Alfred, Maine is a pretty weird fucking town.  Unless of course you are making up a town.

Well, my hope is that someone will try to find the areas I describe, and maybe instead find even weirder shit.

There's got to be a reason, after all, that some parts of the Eastern seaboard are almost empty, while points West are crowded.
