QuoteOklahoma's amendment, which also banned the use of international law in judicial decision-making, might force Oklahoma judges to ignore all laws that were conceived on foreign soil... "I would like to see Oklahoma politicians explain if this means that the courts can no longer consider the Ten Commandments. Isn't that a precept of another culture and another nation?" a University of Oklahoma law professor said.

"The result of this is that judges aren't going to know when and how they can look at sources of American law that were international law in origin. ... Many of us who understand the law are scratching our heads this morning, laughing so we don't cry."

Um.  Did they just ban Common law?  Seriously?

Apparently they didn't ban Common law, there's an exception in there.

They did ban all treaties with foreign nations though, so if you plan on setting up any torrent sites Oklahoma is the place to be.

They sound like the tards in some of our papers over here who whine about the "foreign" laws...which are voted on by our Parliament and passed into UK law, just like any other legislation.

So I'm curious, considering there are I think 7 remaining reservations still in Oklahoma and those reservations are goverened by Tribal Law and not state law and Oklahoma has banned foriegn treaties.....

.....then Oklahoma has just broken the treaties with these tribes, which can be construed as an act of war?

I'm not sure on this, but I think treaties with tribes and tribal laws are considered domestic laws in the US (they are after all US citizens).

No, tribal laws are not domestic laws.  Reservations govern themselves, the state has no juridiction.  Federal can force juridiction but....  it's debatable.

QuoteArticle I, Section 8 of the Constitution states that "Congress shall have the power to regulate Commerce with foreign nations and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes",[2] determining that Indian tribes were separate from both the federal and state governments, and

The Fourteenth Amendment, Section 2 amends the apportionment of representatives in Article I, Section 2 above.[3]
These basic provisions have been changed and/or clarified by various federal laws over the history of the United States. Regulate, historically means facilitate. Therefore, the Congress of these United States was to be the facilitator of commerce between the states and the tribes.[4] States maintain a singular sovereignty which the tribes themselves do not maintain as 'Domestic Dependent Nations'.

However, Domestic only refers to the fact that these nations exist within the United States.

Fortunately, no-one gives a fuck whether Oklamhoma is the signatory to any international treaties, the same way no-one cares that the County of Yorkshire is not a signatory to the Kyoto Protocols, that Moscow Oblast has not ratified the Geneva Conventions and that the city of Calais does not diplomatically recognize Iceland.

It would be funny if all future treaties are signed something like:
