What? Americans generally conquer that sport by age 12 and then move on to real sports.

Soccer is daycare in the US, you only get good at it if your parents are obnoxious and have money. Basketball is our equivalent to footie in other countries...it's the "poor man's" sport of America.  I was given a basketball for Christmas and sent outside to shoot hoops with the neighborhood kids instead of given a soccer ball and running down the street after it with my friends. It's just a cultural barrier that developed thanks to oceans.

I got those occasionally, but the best year was when we got the rollerblades...Rollerblading AND basketball?! YES. It was like hockey in a tennis court with a ball too big to really effectively maneuver with hockey sticks... And then people ask why my front teeth are fake.

Actually, my failure at basketball lead me to play volleyball. Apparently if you can bump/serve a basketball and not break your wrists, this is impressive or something.

The skin on his hands is like a crocodile's.  I think that gel stuff became popular amongst the hospital and clinic types because it's not as harsh as water + soap, 60+ times a day.
