You should subscribe to them. Every couple of weeks they either upload a video of them playing metroid or raping furniture.

Also, I have a great deal of respect for Yu-Gi-Oh! for one reason:

They had the balls to put that on a children's television program. On a 4Kids show at that.

It is pretty great, but only if you're willing to sit through it with the understanding that you will never, ever get what it's actually about. It's totally incomprehensible.

But yeah, FLCL made me stop hating anime.

The end of Akira was so bad, I wanted to nuke Hiroshima again.

There is no such thing as good anime.  Period.

The graphic novel was vastly superior, ending included. It's difficult to fit six HUGE volumes into two and a half hours.

What made the movie great was the production value of the whole thing. hundreds of hand painted cells per second. Fantastic animation that, IMO, has never been matched. And all without computers, to boot.

I def suggest the graphic novel, though. It's waaaaaay better than the movie.

FLCL was pretty good, but I couldn't watch it a second time. I can still watch episodes of Ghost in the Shell, and Paranoia Agent.

The problem with a lot of anime (or it might just be popular anime) is that the main character is a well intentioned idiot.
