And people are acting like they care.

In other news, he was the last surviving veteran of WW1. I guess now no one will ever be able to properly explain to me why the Kaiser's pointy hat pissed off a bunch of people.

We appear to be doomed by our DNA to repeat the same destructive behaviors our forebears have repeated for millenia. If anything our problem solving skills have actually diminished with the advent of technology & our ubiquitous modern conveniences. & yet despite our predisposition towards fear-driven hostility; towards what we anachronistically term primitive behavior another instinct is just as firmly encoded in our make-up. We are capable as our ancestors were of incredible breathtaking acts of kindness. Every hour of every day a man risks his life at a moments notice to save another. Forget for a moment the belligerent benevolent billionaires who grant the unfortunate a crumb of costfree cake. I speak of pure acts of selflessness. A Mother who rushes into the street to save a child from a speeding vehicle. A person who runs into a burning building to reach a family trapped on the upper story. Such actions, such moments, such unconscious selfless decisions, define what it is to be human

Having read the article, I do.

He was 111. Albeit that means he was a crusty, smelly, resilient old fucker, he was still fucking 111. Plus he looked like skeletor with wrinkles.

All my friends and family have been advised to smother me with a pillow should i even hit 80/at the first sign of me smelling like cabbage.

I care too, just wanted you to know. And since your family and friends might all be dead before you reach 80 I am volunteering in their place - I'll even bring my own cabbage . . .

Yes, because people have perfect memories and don't have a tendency to forget historical atrocities like world wars at the first chance they can.

You want people who were there around so they can tell their stories. You want their stories around so nobody the fuck ever forgets.

Kai,

Depends. If it wasn't fucking illegal over here, I'd say "HOLOCAUST? WHAT HOLOCAUST?"

JUST BECAUSE I CAN

except I wouldnt because it totally happened and that means nobody in their right mind would ever make sarcastic jokes about it, ever.

What I'll probably say would revolve around me bitching about the fact the last holocaust survivor today wasn't jewish, and therefore no one cared.

Since you know, only 6 million died, and they were all jews.

And for the record, I can't stand the holocaust museum in DC for the sheer fact that 90% of the museum only covers/refers to the jewish victims, which is utter and complete bullshit.

111? Lucky bastard! I hope I make it that long.

I've a great deal of contempt for the elderly. Any and all problems in the world right now are a direct result of old people/their generations.

Plus the thought of living out the last of my days as a husk that shits myself continuously isn't something i like to entertain. I'd rather, and intend to, die young and spry.

And your generation aren't a bunch of selfish shitcakes who for the most part don't care what the future generations will have to live through? :lulz:

I'm sure there are plenty of people who will help you fulfill your desire to die young.

Cainad (dec.)

Also, every old person in existence is an asshole who is personally and directly responsible for the world's current problems. 100% troof.

Cainad (dec.)

Also also, old people are all very stupid and their life experiences are completely irrelevant and worthless. The current young generation is smart, clever, important, would fucking anybody, and doesn't afraid of anything.

There are good ones and bad ones, just like young people.

I'm pretty sure everyone wants to stay pretty healthy until their death, but the sad inevitable fact is that eventually you'll degrade. How do you intend to die young? Suicide? I hope you don't procreate.

I hope to go as my grandparents went; by taking care of myself and living well and staying in shape for as long as I can, remaining healthy and active to a ripe old age, and then getting taken down quickly by an infection when I'm so aged and weak my system can no longer fight it off. My dad is 80 (or 82) and he still plays basketball every Saturday.

But Nigel, thanks to Da6s's brilliant insight, we now know that no one over the age of 65 ever did anything worthwhile with their lives, nor are they worthy of the respect that should be reserved for real human beings, a.k.a. young people.

Young people are hip, with-it, healthy, and cool. They're the only ones worthy of consideration as individuals. Past a certain age, everyone is basically the same ugly old turd and they should all be thrown into dumpsters for all the horrible things that each and every one of them did to fuck up the world for the bright and beautiful young people.
