Don't even try thinking about an Orlando Pale Ale, I sorta of threw up a little.

Orlando Pale Ale??

is it from Orlando Brewery?

No, I just made it up. Thinking about what it would taste like. :vom:

Orlando has a brewery. In the warehouse district. You know, where they used to dump all the rocket fuel. It's all "organic".
We did a tour one saturday cause we were bored. It was actually quite fun.
Some of their beer is really quite tasty, like the red ale and the IPA. We tried their "Anesecoria" which is their barley wine. It was thick and syrupy.
Some of their beer like the old pelican is absolute AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASS CRAAAAP!!
I mean spit it out immediately like the girl in our smiley.

When I'm down for Christmas we should go check out the Cigar City place. FO REALZ. I'll drag my sister along again. She always complains and then goes, "Aw, I love Squid."

Also,  I don't think they ship out of Rhode Island/Massachusetts, but if you guys who like dark porters can get a hold of Newport Storm Chocolate Porter, you will NOT be let down. This was one of the first porters I had and first beers I had from Newport Storm and it blew my mind.

Their ales are average, nothing special, but their craft beers are exceptional.

Here, let me get that link for you:

Quote from: Triple Zero on November 05, 2009, 11:42:30 PMin other news, my gf and I discovered the BEST most awesome smooth Kriek beer ever! "Timmermans Kriek". Kriek beer is a slightly sour beer, made with fruit (often cherries or other red fruits). It's a littlebit of a girl's drink, but it's just pretty damn good. Should be, too, for €1,60 the bottle (~10oz) .. this one has a very slight hint of honey and is just delicious. NWC if you read this thread, you can probably get it in Belgium (it's probably Belgian in origin anyway). I tasted quite a bunch of different Krieks in my life and this one really is the top. Though, as always, it probably helped it was near the end of a really great evening out.
That sounds cheap to me.  One of those little bottles of Belgian kriek or framboise costs about $7 here.

Sorry I shoulda mentioned, that's if you buy it in the supermarket or liquor store, not in a bar. Usually a kriek or other good special beer is €1,10 or €1,20 or something.

Although $7 is still €4,70 and I still wouldn't pay that unless I got a pint of the stuff :-)
I was also talking about buying it in a store.  That's how much it costs at World Market.  If I drive an extra 20 minutes and go to Total Wine, I can find it for a little less.

I'd brew one myself, but they take a couple of years to get done and require a dedicated fermenter, because once you ferment a lambic in something, all subsequent beers fermented in that vessel will also be lambics whether you want it or not.
I will answer ANY prayer for $39.95.*

*Unfortunately, I cannot give refunds in the event that the answer is no.

Suu

Not a huge fan of lambics...I get worried about my mold allergies on how those are actually fermented.

Also, I had no idea that InBev bought AB and that AB sold the theme park division to some financial group in NYC.

No more beer at Busch Gardens?

Your sister is adorable. I want to feed her.

Their tasting room is only open Wed through Fri. I wouldn't be able to go unless it was on the 16th cause every day for the rest of the year is full in the PTO book. Meaning I'm forced to carry over 5 days of PTO that I'd really like to take. Unless another operator dies, gives back a day, quits or....   dies.
Damn.
Well at least I get Vets day and Xmas off :)

Suu

That blows. :( Stupid thinks like people requesting off time at Christmas....

Yeah.
I mean why should more than 3 people in an office of 40 or so get time off for holidays?

In fact, in 7 years I've never gotten a single day during thanksgiving or xmas week off other than the actual holidays. I'm lucky to get my birthday and this year my son's falls on a saturday. So it's the first one I get to spend with him. Amazing.

Define "beer"

Guinness.

Anything less than that is bottled piss, and is fit only for making bratwurst.

thisthisthisthisthisthisthisthis... this... this..

And also Sam Smith's Wheat Beer.  Though I think that is pretty much exclusive to North-East England...  soo sucks to be you guys.  it still rocks though, do a taste if you ever get the chance.

Dysfunctional Cunt

Well I found a wonderful Pumpkin Beer this weekend.  O'Fallon Brewery is a local microbrewery.

We got the Pumpkin Beer and it was delicious!!  Really smooth with a spice kick that was interesting.  Best I've had.

Sam Smith's is widely available in the US and is, IMO, generally very good beer.

Guinness, however, is not good at all. Barely even qualifies as "beer".

ECH,
srsly, it's the friggin' Budweiser of stouts people.

But is it brewed in Tadcaster...?

edit:  i looked it up and it is...  pubs that serve it are fairly uncommon here as far as i can tell, so i assumed it was a fairly local phenomenon.

Suu

Mmm...Sammy Smith. They make a rippin' oatmeal stout.

I agree

Suu

Guinness is a session ale. It's not SUPPOSED to be heavy.

I love how people assume that all dark beers are heavy. It has to do with the malt used, that's what creates the color. I've had some more filling lighter color ale before.
