Given this test was apparently asked in Spain and the UK as well, why was there so much American-centric trivia?  I mean, that is surely going to skew the results...maybe not significantly, but it's not exactly helpful.

14/15. Missed the Jewish Sabbath one, because it was misleadingly worded.  (Actually, I didn't bother to read past Jewish Sabbath before answering)

My last boss is an observant Jew, so there was no way I wasn't going to nail that one (I used to handle his schedule)

QuoteYour responses on the quiz do NOT affect the U.S. Religious Knowledge Survey's results.

To be fair, for those particular questions, if you step back a moment and think about them, you can reason them out. Especially seeing as how non-Americans consistently seem to know more about how America works than your average American does.  :lulz:

But its simple, its almost a given that people that are into a post-modern Discordia thing are aware of several religions tenets and have some basic knowledge of whats going on with the rest of them.

I think that's another reason why atheists did pretty well. You're usually not born atheist or Discordian, so you kinda shop around for a bit first to see what's out there. I suppose in order to think for yourself, you have to see what other people are thinking too.

You're a special case, Babylon.  You are offensive even when you don't post.

I just thought of something too:
Does the survey take education level into account? Generally atheism is more prevalent in people with higher level education, so not only have they been exposed to other cultures and religions through people they went to college and grad school with (thus getting you out of whatever neighborhood you lived in in high school) but also that they may have taken a comparative religions course along the way. For example, I didn't know any non-Catholics til I got to high school and I didn't meet any Muslims until I got to college.

Except for Muhammad. But he worked at the pizza joint and talked more about missing Morocco than anything else.
