EXPERIMENT WAS A FAILURE.  VOW BROKEN.

If they seem stupid, maybe it's NOT because I'm failing to see things from their point of view sufficiently.  Maybe it's NOT because I'm failing to appreciate their socio-cultural point of view.  Maybe it's NOT because they're having a bad day and I'm not seeing them at their best.  Maybe it's NOT because I'm secretly threatened by them.  Maybe it's NOT because I'm projecting my own insecurities on them.

Maybe it's just because they're FUCKING STUPID.

I have a rant coming about this nitwit they hired, here, when I can sit down in front of a real keyboard.  The fucking stupid is getting painful.

Speaking of nitwits, more fun from Capitol Grilling.

Damn.

I wonder if those idiots realize that at least some of us didn't vote FOR Obama...  We were voting AGAINST the GoP idiocy...
Probably not. I know I've been saying that for years ("One of the main reasons I voted for him is that he wasn't McCain.") and it hasn't sunk in yet.

Also, god, these guys are an insult to rocks they're so dumb. :lulz:

It's sad.  Ten years ago, that was the best political forum on the internet.

Now the owner is bored with it (he STILL has the Thanksgiving logo up, at the top), and he's shut off new registration and stopped monitoring it.

The results are predictable.

Yeah, I noticed that. I went to try to reg and got that notice, lol.

McCain might not have set off my fuckno radar if he'd picked a running mate with some semblance of sanity, and had a better staff that hid the stupid better.

It was Palin, in large part, who got me to the ballot box.

i'd pretty much agree with that assessment.
but even though Houston is a hellhole that i wouldn't ever want to live in, it's still metropolitan, and you can find plenty of counterculture and diversity.  also don't forget SanAntonio, which is not bad.
So you take that triangle that fills the bulk of the state, and it's really not too hick.
stray from that, and you better have the ability to establish repoire with narrowly focused minds, but i see that in every state.
for instance, i have family in MN.  those folks there are extremely... congenial?  non-confrontational?  hell, they can't even verbalize that they don't like something.  you feed them some food made of offal, and they'll say, "that's different."  But if you have a 'counter culture' look about you, then you can feel the palpable judgement oozing out of them, even as they smile.  but, go to the city (Minneapolis) and you'll fit in somewhere.
So, where is this implied state where the population in the country is accepting of a waving freak flag? I've been to over half of them, and it isn't in any of those....
and what state has large cities where you can't let it fly without fitting in on one block or another?  'cause it sure ain't TX...

(austin is quite an Oasis, however  :))

Juana

Oh, he pinged my FUCKNO radar before he picked Palin because of his anger problems and treatment of women.

Tucson.

Balls.  This here is the state of Gadsden.  We are currently occupied by the Evil Northern Empire of Phoenix, but that doesn't make their jackbooting legitimate.
