There's another cookie delivery happening sometime in the next month or so, you should get in on that.

My cousin Rob, the son of Bill (the hardcase world war 2 vet), whom I remember as a leather-jacketed teenag hot-rodder who always had time for his 11 year old nerd cousin, died today from a heart attack.  He was 52.

Aw, shit. Sorry, man.

Thank you.  This has not been a very good year for anyone, I think.

Condolences, man. We're getting to that age where any conversation with someone we haven't seen for six months begins with a role call of friends who've died since we last saw each other. I used to overhear the old guys doing this in the street and it struck me as depressing. Now I look in the mirror and one of those old guys is staring back at me and it's twice as depressing.

Show me the god that decided the best place for me was a rapidly decaying monkey and I'll happily stab him in the face, til he's praying to himself for mercy.  :argh!:

Thanks, guys.  I wasn't close to him, except for that 36 year old memory.  Still.

I've lost an aunt I barely knew as well this last month. It was weird because though family it barely registered against the din of tragic death from here and elsewhere. All I can really say is I plan to move back to my hometown in a couple months to spend more time with my dad and bros because these last couple months have caused a serious shift in my priorities.

It's 50 fucking degrees outside and I'm in a blizzard.  An honest to god blizzard and I am comfortable in a lightweight hoodie.

Mountains are weird.  I don't pretend to understand them.

You know what I don't understand?  How this guy got back up the mountain.

Plz explain mountain magic, Roger.

I can't.  It is mysterious and terrifying, and not for the likes of you and I to understand.
