If it quacks like a sociopath, but also ponders its own sociopathy, it's probably just an asshole.

If you want to reach new people, video is one of the easiest ways to do it, people love the meaty vlog style vids, or even shorter ones for generation ADD.
I have ADHD (and I wish it was a "generation". I might have got diagnosed before age 40) and I bloody hate the tendency for everything to be videos now, especially when I'm looking for a how-to for some quick thing—household fixes, how to do something or other in Photoshop, whatever. Text is skippable, skimmable, reread-particular-bits-without-fiddling-about-able, forget-and-refer-back-to-while-you're-doing-the-thing-able. I don't want to sit still through a 6-minute video and then forget it all immediately, when I could have found and read the relevant bit in 2.
This probably doesn't apply to less immediate and specific stuff like a potential BIP vid though. I liked scribbly's video script in the other thread, and I can see how that being a video could add things that aren't there in the text alone.

I mean, most of Tumblr sucks, absolutely. But it's still going to be an easier entry to the fediverse than Mastodon, since you know exactly what you're getting, exactly how to get it, and you aren't going to be effectively banned for breaking bizarre rules that nowhere else online has that are buried in a rules document that's functionally closer to a ToS in size and impenetrability than a list of rules.

on joining the right wing and the libertarians, I read something interesting today. In the Starseed Signals by Robert Anton Wilson, published posthumously from his writings in the 70s, RAW is constantly calling himself a libertarian. closer to the time of his death, as I recall, he said something like he doesn't hate the poor enough to be a libertarian, and that they are republicans who smoke dope.

It tastes like wanting to feel better as a child.
QuoteI get it, but it's not nutrient dense. He consumed enough calories for the day at breakfast and lunch, not including snacks and dinner. I am no longer fucking around and he is no longer allowed to complain.

Sidebar, I got curious and looked into it. Apparently DEFCON readiness levels aren't supposed to be reported on? Who knew?
No, really. I'm not even being sarcastic, I sincerely had the idea that DEFCON readiness was a wartime public communications tool. "This number determines the amount of Good in your immediate future, if it gets too low you can expect to assume the position forthwith." It's news to me that it is generally not known what the level at any given time is unless there's a leak or a personal decision to announce it.
It's not secret, but it is a military tool that nobody in the general public really understands. And they learned from the terrorist color-coding thing that telling people shit only causes problems and mockery.

Good luck in Zuckland.
I decided to watch a horror movie a friend recommended to me and it is the first time I've ever been genuinely terrified of a horror film. No worse possible outcome. I recommend it if you can get into slow-burns. Like, "Tarkovsky on Quaaludes" slow, but Jesus fuck. There's four things you could count as jump scares, though I don't know if any but one of them counts, and I don't think any of them are particularly scary or memorable aside from "oh wow" factor. It's the slow quiet shit that erodes your sanity.
It's called Skinamarink and there's currently no legal way to see it. I wish I had waited to see it.
