So to me its not the FBI doing this, its some "law enforcement officials" being jackasses and leaking internal memos.

It's like these particular police officials want to incite and promote this clown fiesta for some reason by casually and indirectly inviting everyone to prepare themselves for it.

Yeah. At this point, I think I'm more concerned about Trump loyalists inside law enforcement and military than I am random yahoos.

Also, as far as I can tell, they're focusing on guarding government buildings. The media are likely going to be considered prime targets as well.

I've been hearing reports from multiple states of the National Guards mobilizing. Seems like they're planning on not fucking around next time.

Good thing, too. The insurrectionists probably won't be either. Hopefully, they're sending some to protect weak points in the infrastructure while they're at it.

The problem was last time Trump wanted the National Guard to mobilise against the counter-protestors.

This is why certain European intelligence agencies have people who think this was a planned coup. If if it had worked, the National Guard would have secured Capitol Hill but let the Trumpists run riot inside. And while a lot of these idiots were farcical, some did come armed and with ziplocks on show - they intended to take hostages.

Yeah. I definitely haven't ruled out the possibility that everything is not going to be okay. I just spent my entire stimulus check on solar panels and 2-way radios. I hope they get here before civilization ends.

Waiting to hear what the FBI have to say before jumping to any conclusions, but that's certainly a reasonable possibility based on the very little we know.

My gut is telling me that the bomb maker is not this nutjob. Something this well planned and executed is likely the work of a dedicated and intelligent madman. Teaching some random psycho schmuck how to set a timer ain't all that hard. I suspect that the problem may well be ongoing. I would give A LOT to hear a recording of the exact message in total. The blast scorched the shit out of trees rather far away indeed. That's a helluva heat wash. Enough to make me wonder if it might have been a bit more advanced in composition and construction than your average hillbilly fertilizer bomb. But I don't know enough to really speculate. I DO see that they're being dodgy as fuck about the deets and how to characterize the event. Whatever it is this is an opening move, not game over.

I'm leaning toward Qanon 5G conspiracy theorists or something. AT&T owns WarnerMedia, of which CNN is a part. Plenty of stuff to build a theory out of there.

Nobody was killed. It was an RV which blared a message through a PA system for 15 minutes before the explosion to "Evacuate the area". The target appears to have been a major AT&T internet hub.

As far as the tantrums, lately I've been rubbing something like that in the faces of people I see calling for civil war. First, anybody who's smart and genuinely intends to engage in such action would not be talking about it on the internet, and second the whole reason people like Antifa and BLM actually got up and did something is because they actually believe the things they say they believe. Most of these yahoos do not. They just say whatever needs to be said at the time to score whatever they perceive to be points (see also: The Alt-Right Playbook: The Card Says Moops) This is why the left stands up for what they believe in, and those people don't precisely because they don't actually believe their own bullshit.

Unfortunately, that still leaves plenty of them who do believe the bullshit and are probably going to act on it.
