So, Jenn just got carted off by the EMTs to the cardiac ward.

And due to the plague, I can't be with her.

The guy's name is Germ. Not only is he clearly not OK, there's almost nothing you can do to him that wouldn't be an improvement on being called "Germ".

Does he have an Aunty Bacterial?

Listen, youíre new here. But you need to know.

You canít just say that kind of shit. We have the PTSD about it. A horrible little man held us hostage for literal years with puns like that. The connection switches on in our brains and itís all Apocalypse Now, Independence Day, Saw.

That sort of weaponry should be saved for when you want to short circuit the room by causing everyone to yell like theyíre on fire, manically disrobe, and run sprinting for the nearest freeway.

It's too damn hot for wearing robes. But i can maybe manically scrape the flesh off my bones?
That might scratch the itch i had all along...

It's 112 here and everyone died.

Holy fuck.
I already begin to slowly die once it goes past 80 and there is no breeze.

At 90 i become a horribly moist demon and not even staying in the shade will do;
any water i drink bypasses the stomach and goes straight out of my pores while i chug down another bottle.

Beyond 100 --- frankly, i can't remember much of the last time i was exposed to that temperature. There were a lot of claw marks on my body though. There is something wrong about the outside temperature going above inner body temperature. WRONG i say.

This shit ought to be illegal.

People can't survive below 80.

What's worse than realizing that the fire has gotten around behind you?

The cleanup, obviously.

BUT:  Building already cleared for reoccupation, electrical permit took ONE DAY (always pick the contractor with the shady officer manager), and insurance is buying all of our damaged shit, etc.

I am worn down to a nub.

presuming a clear election result, I'm starting to think that "trump won't leave office willingly" is the left wing version of "obama's gonna take your guns"

What part of Trump's behavior leads you to draw that comparison?

I do think it's in his wheelhouse to contest, cloud, and corrupt the election results.

But if it's a clear loss for him? Like a landslide? Then it's over.

What's he gonna say? *rapidly scribbling an executive order* "Me, the secret service, and the army will physically block Biden from coming into this oval office and presidenting" ?

Rule of Law is decaying, but it's not so decayed that clear election results just get tossed out.

Just so you know, the alteration of Rome from a republic to an autocracy took a long time to set up, but the actual transition took less than 30 months.

I'm stealing that.  In broad daylight, in the middle of the street, while Karen waves her pistol around.

Well, that was more fire damage than I expected.

How much were you expecting?

I'm choosing to believe that the fire was only, in fact, put out just now.

It's been 10 days above 100F since we could get into the plant, HVAC out, and that abandoned potluck dinner didn't do so well in the break room.

Also, the dip tank was left full and we had to pour 6 gallons of bleach into it to get rid of the stink.  You could have cut the water with a knife.

I was expecting to lose the carbon cave and polishing.

Did it burn a hole in anything or anyone irreplaceable?

It fucked our power distribution.  Scorched a bunch of conduit in the 240 VAC transformer room.  So I have 480 VAC and some 120 VAC, but until I get the conduit yanked out and replaced, I can only bring 2 departments back.

We'll be fully back on line by the end of the week.  We pulled some Apollo 13 shit today to get the servers online so at least we can ship and receive.

I literally just went back and forth across Wisconsin. I was the only person wearing a mask that I saw except store employees. Wisconsin is doomed.

I was just at the grocery store, there was maybe 200 people there, only two idiots not wearing masks.

In Pima County, that's a $360 fine.

As are we.

2 days straight of 35,000+ new cases per day.  Deaths are down, but this bloom of new cases will fix that in a week.

Added onto the fact that Trump has publicly decided that none of this is a thing, and we're not going to react to it anymore.

One of the most important things I ever figured out was that the really real, genuine me, the self I was supposed to be true to, was in fact something I could pretty much invent with impunity. I decided to make one that wasn't such a fuckhead.

This wasn't so much a reinvention as it was "how I progressed and how fast I progressed when toxic elements have been removed."

I think the shutdown may have helped.  I have literally spent all of my non-working hours with my wife, without outside influences, and it's been pretty fucking fantastic.  I don't think I've ever been this happy.
