Um, I started this thread so we could talk about the stupid things presidents say, not so we could say stupider things to each other.  What was I thinking

The part that detailed criminal penalties for both the patient and the
doctor if the transaction was not previously approved by an assigned
gatekeeper.

why's everyone gotta hate on Tricky Dick? put aside the fact that he was a crazy asshole and look at what he actually accomplished while in office, and you could make an argument that he was the best president we ever had.

as for his crookedness, it was his paranoia that got him caught doing what every other president has doen and does.

Subverting the democratic process, Kent State, his interesting anti-Semetic conversations with Billy Graham in the oval office, enthusiastic participation in HUAC, etc.

He was a monster.  I hope they remembered to put a stake through his heart before they buried him.

we're not talking about his beliefs, his intentions, or his motives...we're speaking strictly of what he accomplished while in office.

Admittedly, one of us is doing the voT thing and trying to duck out of the debate when someone actually challenges their views, but it's not me.

And I'm not trying ot get in another pissing match with you Rog, but I think it's very important that we don't let our hatred of Emperor Lying Fuckbag and his cronies blind us to the larger realities at hand, one of which is that we'd probably be having this same conversation with different names had Kerry or some other Dem been elected...

I didn't challenge your intelligence at all...I said that the things you were saying worried me because I have a great deal of respect for your intelligence...and again, I'm not debating in a manner anything like VoT..if I was, I would have posted twice, ignored everybody's redress of my posts, and called everyone a bunch of whacked-out liberals or some such mullet-headed drivel...and unfortunately, I'm slamming the Dems because I don't see them as a viable alternative in their current state...I agree that they might be the slightly lesser of two evils, but if they don't have anybody who can get elected, it's kind of a moot point, and maybe we need to start thinking about other alternatives...if we start now, we might be able to accomplish something worthwhile before our kids inherit a ruined nation...try to remember you and I are on the same side here, OK?

Damn, Rog. Just trying to find a copy of the bill has taken this long
and the sucker is 1000's of pages long! My eyes are buggin out here,
man.

They have it at this site, but the "searches" expire and you have to

Okay, it could be I was wrong and repeated something that wasn't true.
What are the chances of that? After all, I'm infallible, right? (I am
sure VoT can tell us all about how I was right. HA!) Anyway, that was
what I remembered. There are criminal penalties in there. Mostly for
fraud. And there are circumstances where getting treatment outside the
"plan" could be considered fraud. So work it out. I'm hungry.
