Once Discordianism starts landing on 'serious' issues, or issues that are serious to some people, it becomes more contentious.

As it should.

Really?  You can't?  Why not?

No, not really. I was thinking of this:

Could be worse.  I joined the FB discordia group...And with a few exceptions, I found it to be pretty damn depressing.

I mean, once you've talked about the law of fives, yada yada, what do you do then?  The same thing over again.

No but what is the point of talking about the Curse of Greyface if we aren't to go out and snap people out of those Curses.  Not to tell them HOW and WHAT to think after, but, to just THINK.  You have to connnect and commune with people to do that kind of thing.  WHAT we think is indeed individual, and should be.

But what was BIP all about?  It was to be a cold bucket of water or a sharp point of a stick in the eye.  I dunno about other authors, but I didn't throw down on that just to see my, fake, name in print.  It was maybe to help a few spags figure out there were more paths, more opportunities than what they've been allowing themselves to see.

It can be discussed.. it can be promoted, evangelized, smacked upside the head of some poor pink cabbage... I don't think there's anything wrong with that. All I'm saying is that it isn't necessarily an inherent part of Discordianism. Its something that works for some Discordians.

Hmm, I still disagree but I see no need to press the point.

To legitimize our sense of superiority, of course.

What were you thinking?

Okay, so in The Revelation, on Page 9, Eris says:

"Speak of me as Discord, to show contrast with the pentagon.  Tell constricted mankind that there are no rules, unless they choose to invent rules."

Speak, tell, it's about communication with other people.

RWHN, for the record I think that Lumberjim already holds the title for "unhealthiest Nigel fixation", but if you keep posting about it at this rate you might be a contender.

Go champ!

I'm only posting about it because TGRR asked me about it.  Otherwise I could give a fuck about you.

That totally explains why you follow me all over the board replying to everything I post and repeatedly mentioning that you have me on ignore! I was wondering.

There's also Dickhead Pickle, if we're talking about people who are completely gross and vile.

"Kids whose parents can't work three jobs and teach them deserve what they get," and all that.

I don't even think he's a sociopath, to tell the truth... just damaged and stuck in a really shitty loop.

I've only ever met one sociopath in person, and she is fucking terrifying, not least because it took me close to seven years to realize it. She's not one of my friends, but a friend of a friend. Actual sociopaths are really frightening, and often don't exhibit the kinds of antisocial behavior that people consider earmarks for sociopathy. Which actually makes it that much more irritating/frustrating to me when people use antisocial behavior to try to get attention or to make people think they're cool/edgy/special. People with antisocial personality disorder ARE special; they're fortunately fairly rare. It's just that it's the kind of special that needs to be avoided like you would avoid West Nile virus.

Much like anyone else, I'm a work in progress, with the misfortune of having a poorly poured foundation that occasionally needs the cracks patched.

Consequently, I've spent quite a bit of time the last year re-thinking some things I thought I had down.  I've stayed away from posting in clearly radioactive threads because it isn't much fun for anyone involved.

Being deliberately misquoted to the point of bald faced lying, as above, I just won't stomach.  I don't care if Freeky thinks I am a bad person.  I do care if she's lying about something I've said.

Quote from: Disco Pickle on August 28, 2012, 12:40:59 AM
Hey, go fuck yourself.  Here's what I said, and you should probably get in the habit of actually quoting people before you lie about what they said.  It'll make you look even funnier.

QuoteYou know what, if you're too tired to teach your children how to do things better than you did?

FUCK YOU

Your family and your children will get everything that's coming to them.

And I still wholeheartedly believe that.  It's one of the only things that's kept the species from getting eaten by predators, only now the only natural predator we have outside of camping in the wilderness is other humans.  Teaching your children about what NOT to do should your biggest contribution to their lives.

You deny saying anything like that, call Freeky a liar for saying you did, and then quote yourself saying it to prove you didn't say it?  :lulz:

You don't make any sense.
