When I breathe in just above normal amounts, I get a very very sharp pain in my chest just under where I suppose my heart is. Feels like something is pressing on my ribs or stabbing me there. Shortly after the pain, I have to take shallow breaths. And I have to avoid yawning or the pain becomes so much that I would probably pass out. I went to sneeze earlier and the pain was so bad the sneeze stopped mid-start. This kinda thing happens from time to time but usually only lasts a few minutes. It's been going on for an hour or so now. Should I go to the doctor?

That sounds horrible and at least "call the doctor's office" worthy.

Sounds good to me. Too bad I don't get off work for another 3 hours.

Intercostal cramp?

Just looked that up. Sounds exactly right. But it's been happening for most of my life. Intercostal muscle sprains, etc. tend to be temporary. Although, the fact that that's muscular might explain a lot of things. If I stretch at all like I used to, my muscles will spasm or feel like they're being ripped out of place, and more than a brisk walk will cause my legs to go out if they're not warmed up. Also, my toes often feel like they're being folded over one another, and I have to press my foot to the ground really hard to keep them from doing so until the muscle spasm stops. I also get similar pains in my sternum, which would only be explained by a fracture, or intercostal muscle issues.

Fuck, I'm going to the doctor. I'm getting checked for muscular diseases.

Thanks for the input all.

Listen carefully. I don't have much time, and I only have 462 characters left. I'm a scientist from Area 52 (Area 51 was used to draw attention from Area 52, where the aliens were ACTUALLY stored) who was working on neural interfacing with networked devices. In an experiment gone wrong, I accidentally uploaded my mind to the internet. In the 2 seconds I had before my mind scrambled itself with the world's network traffic, I was able to store this snippet in this random internet signature. If you're reading this, let the world know tha

My contract is just about over and I don't have another job lined up.

I can now design, develop, and deploy full stack web apps though. And I've got a few promising leads, but still....

Apparently the University wanted my dissertation re-formatted, for printing purposes.

It's no biggie - it was submitted on time etc. but it just means messing around in LibreOffice's settings to make it look more like a Word document.

Maybe you could make an app that helps citizens monitor for corruption and "procedural indescretion". Like C-span but without all the C-span. Even if it's not very helpful or buggy af the thing will likely be popular for at least through the first half of the next prez term no matter who wins.

Fernando Poo I suspect, in a speculative entertainment only capacity, that you have a nutrition deficit of potassium, but going to a doc is a must because it could be a congenital muscular or neurological problem. That you've experienced those symptoms for a long time implies that you either eat very poorly on the regular or you're not able to utilize potassium properly for some reason. If you're not inclined to go or the cost is prohibitive you could consume a banana with each meal for a week and 2 before bedtime and see if your symptoms persist. If they do persist AT ALL after a week or don't improve in the slightest after a couple days go asap.

Hoopla, Mrs. Hoopla, and myself ran riot over New York City.

Well, more like just a bar. And by "riot" I mean "drank a responsible number of beers."

I've had that forever.  It's probably a cramp, but if you don't have to pay any fees, a doctor's visit won't kill you.  At least see if you can talk to your doctor before coming in.

I'm going to get into bots pretty soon, applied to my own company but it looks like that one's ripe pickings for consultancy if that's your bag. All the big players have bot projects in the pipeline and (unlike wi the internet) we have the infrastructure here already and everyone is already connected to so there's no technological barriers to adoption like last time round.

If I was looking to freelance, I'd be getting in early and trying to get a couple of projects under my belt, targeting businesses and hooking a bot into their booking/ordering/erp/whatever system. The use cases as far as I can see are damn near any scenario which currently benefits from having a computer system in the first place.

Yea, this.  Potassium, magnesium (I think they compete), and hydration.  Then doc.

Fwiw, I was thinking this too.  If you've had it this long and it hasn't killed you yet, it probably won't kill you any time soon.  And, if you've had it this long, and it can kill you, its probably too late.  But, what do I know? I'm no Dr

Neither am I, though I suspect the first visit would have yielded a similar diagnostic process.  Blood-work will now test metabolism over diet.  Maybe try not to eat anything on appointment day, if you can snag one in the morning.  (I have a built in bias to minimize doctor visits)
