I was teethed on Kipling, from the very first time I could read... for my tenth birthday I received an AMAZING antique leather-bound copy of The Jungle Book (and stories) with gold edges and swastikas from an era when swastikas just meant the cycle of life. I don't think Kipling and Twain would have been given to me if they were racist. When he spoke to Cosell outside of the courthouse, cosell stopped walking and stood there looking like someone had kicked him.

It is true that there is plenty of ugliness, shouting, and violent behavior in the world and on the one hand, it's not good to encourage those sorts of behaviors for the sake of iconoclasm. On the other hand, it's not at all beneficial to allow oneself to be boxed into a particular social expectation simply because that's the way it is, and to challenge it would result in "bad" things. The key is to strike a balance between being what you want to be and remaining on the correct side of ethical behavior. Righteous anger, and not tolerating the bullshit of a person who wants women to "know their place" is perfectly acceptable, but there is a line that if crossed, can make you into an obnoxious, violent misandrist which is just as bad.

I don't think any of his would disagree with that, and I think the OP is a fine job of advocating for breaking out when appropriate rather than being pushed around by societal expectations, but does not cross the line, as Ms. Deci seems to believe.

For me, I've wanted to kill somebody for about as long as I remember. I was 5-6 years old when I thought I could probably get away with shooting an "intruder". I had "borrowed" one of my dads many handguns and laid under the christmas tree in wait. Let it be noted that roger isnt changing anything about moderation and that if deci4 actually bothered to look around at any unlimited appreciation thread that this isnt some new form of censorship and no posts are getting deleted but merely how we deal with trolls who have little to no interest in actually being someone who posts stuff with substance.
