I never forget cookies.

I never forget a pussy.

For example, this one Cat, at the Humane Society I used to work at, name of Alexander, white persian, with blue eyes, so he's deaf.  Wonderful cat.  Had a problem with biting, though.

And Cinders.  Nice black cat.  Had a URI (Upper Respritory Infection) when he was kitten that left him blind.  He's the sweetest, most hyper feline I have ever met.

And Hugo.  Fat, Fat Hugo.  Weighed 18 pounds when we got him in, more than my Shih Tzus weigh.  He needed a Diet, bad.

I'm a cat person fer sher.
I have five kitties at the moment:

Nummy is the mama and she's a teeny little thing - very hyper and bossy.
The other four are her grownup offspring and they're huge big lazy cats.
Totally terrified of their itsy bitsy mother.

I hate the cats I live with.  None of them clean themselves.

Triangle broke his leg three years ago and I took him to work with me so I could care for him during the day.
He was so good that when I quit, my coworkers wanted me to leave him with them.

I had an outside kitty, too, but my ex caught her and took her to the pound and I didn't find out in time to save her.

I know what the pounds can be like.  Here in Gainesville we're lucky -- We're getting the animal population under control.

Back where I used to live, in spartanburg south carolina, over ten thousand animals a year are being put down.

We have a really good program here to keep the population down.
The local vets give a significant price reduction on any wild cat one brings in to be neutered.
Then they tag their ears with an ID # and turn them loose again.

Operation Catnip, which traps strays and spays/neuters them, and No More Homeless Pets, which works on the adoptions end.

My cat was wild... hopefully he'll stay alive when he goes back out into the wilds again (if that ever happens) He's been adjusting to indoor life very well...

so far...
he wants to go outside though... which won't happen for another week or so... I spoke to a vet though and got some suggestions...

Yeah, as long as you leave him in for a while, he should be able to get used to the new house.
Plus Harley seems really smart and capable, anyway.

well the shifty bugger knows how to use a catbox, but he doesn't act like it when he doesn't have to... he prefers to go outside, but he knows exactly what they're for...
