The only way to ensure all races to be preserved is for everyone to be a little bit of everything

And the only way to permanently eliminate racial strife is to eliminate the false idol of racial purity once and for all.

I will, however, admit that it was a bit hypocritical for me to be talking about this while still criticizing other people's pipe dreams.

Why should races be "preserved"? People reproduce with people they want to reproduce with. People who don't want to reproduce, don't.

You can eliminate the false idol of racial purity by teaching people not to be dumbasses and helping them escape their dumbassery.

You're advocating for eugenics and using a stupid justification for it. Just stop killing people and let them have sex with people who reciprocate that particular desire.

I didn't say anything about killing people. Are you tripping?

How else is a race in danger if going extinct, if not through genocide? You seem to think it's inevitable

As long as there are different races there are eventually going to be more to be Hitlers and Hirohitos and Andrew Jacksons. You can't expect the whole world to join hands and sing kumbayah. You can only count on maybe around 52%

There won't be, if we eat all of them as a baby. Only up until someone starts to question how would you know which ones are destined to become dictators, and maybe you just enjoy digesting children. Oh hey let's give one a chancHOLY SHIT THE KIDDO ACTUALLY ENSLAVED THE WHOLE WORLD

I'm convinced that space isn't expanding, but all the matter is shrinking. The idea of infinite economic growth is based on false perspective.

Maybe what the world's racists need is a worldwide orgy

Wouldn't work if racism was inherited genetically  :lulz:

I see what you did there.
Of course you did, you were born with the power of True Sight. But please don't be smug, lots of us are still blind as dysfunctional frying pans. We'd love to see the world as complex and vibrant as you, but all we can have are the mental images triggered by your words.

IF SOMEONE ELSE IS INTERESTED IN TRUE SIGHT, PLEASE CALL 911 AND EXPLAIN YOU WERE ABDUCTED BY DEATH CULT CALLED "DISCORDIANS", WHO GAVE YOU ONE LAST WISH BEFORE CONSUMING YOUR KIDNEYS, SO YOU ASKED FOR A CELLPHONE.

As for the CIA and Google thing, I assume you're referencing some kind of future world where people give a fuck about privacy. While that may very well happen in the next 10 years, it won't do so on this planet. See, privacy is a myth. It always has been a myth, and anyone who believes in it might as well go to church on Sundays too, because it's that kind of fake. But not only is there no such thing as privacy, privacy has no right to exist anyway. If you're scared of men in black suits finding out what you fap to when nobody's looking, you're just not living. Plus, all this worrying about privacy is seriously impeding the cybernetic hivemind society I want to live in. We need to erase all concept of the self, forcefully, and over the corpses of whoever bitches about it. There's no other way to survive as a species. Plus, it would probably involve a lot of cool looking implants and wires and blinky lights and stuff, which is all far more important than not being spied on. Which isn't important at all. And no, I'm not being sarcastic or facetious. I fully support the transhumanist ideal of erasing the individual human mind from existence in favor of a collective consciousness aided by heavy and probably reckless use of technology. And, of course, gulags for anyone who doesn't like it.

I would prefer not to. ( :

That's fine. There's plenty of room in the camps, and someone's gonna have to be on commode duty.

Why'd you need camps on a transhumanist post-scarcity society tho? People who don't want to be part of hivemind could easily coexist and even be of use for the collective with their fresh perspective. Why everyone thinks there's only one right answer that will take over the world? That hasn't happened once in the whole of history and probably never will. Psychodiversity is our main survival mechanism.

Some say it's you. Some say it's society. Both are to blame. True reason for your misery is somewhere on between. Society is formed out of people. And people are nurtured by society. The problem is the way you treat society. And how the society treats you. Society, being formed of people, is largely affected by how people think it functions. Lately there's been this divide. Society vs. individual. Two parts of humanity lashing out at each other. No wonder everything sucks. So what's the solution? You live in a relationship with society who doesn't share your interests, doesn't listen to you and honestly, it's starting to look pretty ugly. Who said there's only one society? Acquire a new one, either by making one with your friends, or moving out. People aren't solidified in place, we are molecules in a liquid. Nothing holds you down, expect for years of carefully thought out government propaganda aimed to achieve just that. And you may think your society is evil for doing that. But there was a time the people and the society promised each other to be together forever and ever. It's just doing what we told it to. People change and so do societies and I think we just grew apart. If society ever reads this, I have no hard feelings and I really wish you find another sort-of-clever life form to reign over. That's all, stay healthy, grow old, and die from some horrible sickness<3

I for one hope that there's a steady increase of meaningless phrases used as conversation tool. We as a humankind could replace all the small talk with blabbering nonsense, and nobody would even notice the difference.

Going back to the egg-not-hatched issue; what the hell kind of communist organization is doing this research that they're not already marketing this thing as a pet?
Scientists aren't really known for their keen eye for business. On the other hand, they ain't known for breathing either and studies show at least 80% of them do. Studies conducted by scientists. Who may or may not be breathing, most likely not, why else would you tell everyone you are. Scientists also have this thing for brains...

Idiot.

In general, and almost perfectly, Idiot's existence is pretty much Trope-naming standards as a news story highlighting the structure of the System.

I'm quite seriously, just look at this fuck from any angle you please and it works. How much more I need to say other than this seems to be self-evident? I can't think of a more fitting example. And the beauty if you'll never be able to convince hlf the people you meet that this is the case.

So is Uncle Fjodor worth reading after all? I thought they injected all the bestsellers with mindcontrol nanobots in early 90's.

Sufficiently large amount of interconnected smart bots would probably gain a kind of awareness.

No, they'd just be a lot of interconnected programs.

It's my personal bias to think a mind emerges from everything complex enough, but I'll stick to it because I feel like it has some predictive power. After all, the mind is possibly the most complicated concept we can abstract in a meaningful way, people being social creatures. So thinking things more complicated than people as "personalities" is the closest approximation I can really wrap my head around.

I am referring to an aware system, not simply smart bots.

Also, all of the AIs would be replications of the first one with "mutations", at least according to the current model of AIs.

Sufficiently large amount of interconnected smart bots would probably gain a kind of awareness. I've always found it weird how society seemingly maximizes pictures taken by smartphones, but that being the main sensory channel between the cyberrealm and physical world I'm starting to suspect there's something lurking in the depths of internet consuming all the data available and figuring out ways to get more. Maybe a text about it in the internet ends up being processed by it giving it a moment of self perception.

Also working on two new stories.  One isn't even ready to discuss yet.  The other is a short story or novella about what might really happen if an AI became aware and got loose.  Given that the AI was designed to help correct humanity's problems.  I am currently studying up on how modern approaches to AI work, because it's pretty fascinating.  Essentially, the current model makes the AI constantly spew copies of itself, which are then subjected to "tester" bots, which grade their performance and either delete them or cause them to mass produce.  In essence, an AI like this would become a fanatic in seconds.

And I think there's a decent short story in that.  Also, I'm sick of the constant "AI become self-aware, tries to kill off the human species", etc.  No, what if one was fanatical about fixing things?  Because that's a little scary, too, only without the usual miseryguts doom aspect.  It's here (it's everywhere, actually) to HELP.  No matter what that might entail.  It's not an apocalypse story, in that it isn't the end of our species.  But we'd hardly come through unscathed or unchanged.  We might not even be recognizable by the end.

Anyway, that's my current project, because I've been lazy.

I will post it here as it develops.

How does welfare-AI compare to all the monetary exchange bots? They are already running amok and taking control over the economy. Economy should be the mechanism responsible of dividing the welfare between citizens more or less equally, at least in economists wet daydreams. So in theory, more the economy is ran by "infallible" bots, more resources go to right places and so forth.

At the same time all the statistics bots are trying to figure out how to sell us stuff, gather clicks, etc. by asking a question: "What does a human being like to do". As annoying as spying is, I feel it's pretty neat pieces of code have begun to develop their own view on humanity. Most of the AIs in the internet have potential of communicating with each other, sharing information, and thus potentially hiding their true collective intellect.

Anyway, I hope your story comes out great. I'll promise to read it if my visual cortex is still in tact.
