I founded an ostrich cult as a branch of Discordianism. I call it the Individuate Church.

Individuates study psychology, psychiatry, consciousness expansion, Carl Jung, and Leary's 8 Circuit Model. The front page of the cult includes a bible inspired by the principia discordia, and a complete system of initiation into 8 Circuit awareness. Presented are initiation ceremonies into each circuit up to the 7th circuit, advice on designing a ceremony for the 8th circuit.

The website also includes my original fiction and poetry, music and sketches, anarchist free form role playing material, and occult essays.

Regarding the 8-circuit model,
in your opinion/experience,
Do people actually exist at different levels? Once you've had an experience on a certain circuit, is it like a Samadhi experience - you got a glimpse of 'how it really works' and can't go back inside plato's cave? Or is it more dynamic? As in - Today I am driven by Circuit 2, but other days I manage to fire on Circuit 3?

In short, we get paid to think about system failure and what plans need to be in place, but in a far more general way.  We get paid to be obsessive pessimists.  Which I was already doing for free.

that sounds like your dream job

The best evidence I've heard - mainly due to some potential amount of verifiability - is that china restricted air travel from wuhan to other parts of china but not the rest of the world.  This seems to be a good indicator of early knowledge of something bad and intent to cause harm to the rest of the world.  Not that there's anything I can do about it. . .

there's a lot of conflicting reporting about these facts and what they mean. So, it's up to you how credible this is....

My current opinion:

unless they find some damn good evidence, it's not a conversation worth having.

I think that people are really hungry for a smoking gun, and whether or not there's one in China, the media salivation over it is.. troubling at best.

Like--unpacking discussions that people had in February 2020, based on imperfect information, is not going to go anywhere cool.

If there was better evidence, we'd have heard it--so far, these articles all pump up correlation and conjecture, and an occasional appeal to authority. It's a weak pretense for an international debacle. All that's happening right now is people going "IF china was behind this, WE'LL BE SO MAD"...

Yeah, and if the USA found WMDs in Iraq, it would have been SO MAD....

I really enjoyed this article. It has a lot of good juice for breaking out of the algorithm.

Would love to know how it strikes you spags.

Yeah, Discord is my jam these days. Definitely enjoy it more than FB, although I know chat format isn't for everybody.

Deep down, I go on FB because I want to socalize with people and feel like I'm connected to "what's going on". But my FB feed is full of people I interact with, not necessarily people I'm close with. So having a tight little group to socialize with during the workday scratches that itch much better than the unwashed masses of FB.

yeah its like being at a party... but a kinda boring party? like some people's parents are here, so everybody's real buttoned-up.

80% of it is small talk about nothing, or repeating interesting things you heard somewhere else

I used to be addicted to FB. Last January, I made a resolution to post way less, engage way less.. it changed the feeling of my day. Much better now.
But yeah, the things I actually WANT to talk about? They ain't going anywhere near FB. It's too public.

So far so good!

Months 1-2 were hell. Baby was super cranky all the time. When we concluded it was acid reflux and put him on a different formula, we suddenly had a different baby! It was so crazy, really like night and day.

Month #3 has been great. At the beginning of the month, he slept through the night for the first time. Right now we probably average .8 wakeups per night. Some nights we get 2, but often we put him down at 7:30 PM and he sleeps til 6:30 AM.

He's ADORABLE. melts our heart every day. Right now he's at the age where he's just starting to learn how to vocalize intentionally, so he's always yelling at us. AIAIAIAIAIAIAIIIIIAAAAAAH! But not in a crying voice, more like he's just telling us his opinions.

I love being a dad. :)
