Okay, my essay question I should be able to rawk out:

"Do you think Gods and Heroes are Superhuman?"

and my closed book portion is me, having to write out mini-bios for the 7 authors we covered, and an abstract summary of what we read by them.

Homer - Blind guy with epic beard. Possibly actually a woman (no, seriously, someone said that). Wrote a story about an emo guy whose boyfriend gets violently killed and also the original screenplay for Big Fish. Wanted to cast Alan Rickman to play the lead, but Tim Burton screwed him in the rights negotiations and cast Ewan McGregor instead.
Hesiod - Wrote a much more believable creation account than the one in Genesis.
Aeschylus - Athenian. Tragedian. Some other sort of -ian, probably. Wrote plays. Some of them were okay. Especially that one where Apollo convinces Athena that she's stupid because she has a vagina. Wait a minute....
Sophocles - Like Aeschylus only more so. Wrote about everyone's favorite motherfucker, Oedipus. Also, Antigone. Proved that Tiresias' role as the only smart person in the underworld (see the Odyssey) was actually basically the same as his role in Thebes.
Euripides - Like Sophocles, only better, because Seneca ripped him off more. Wrote umm... Medea? It wasn't as good as Seneca's version.
Ovid - Badass Roman rock star who wrote about fucking chicks at the age of 20. When he was 40, he wrote a self-help book on how to pick up chicks. Pissed off Augustus, got exiled, whined, cried, died in exile. Also ripped off Hesiod.
Virgil - Roman epic poet. Wrote about farming. Got badgered into writing a rip off of Homer by Augustus and some condom company. Promoted family values and birth control. Never finished it and ordered it burned, but Augustus released it anyway.
