Noobs are trying to get into the flow of things, and are doing their best to "fit in".  The problem is, me poking fun at Hoopla is treated differently than Yabbo poking fun at Hoopla.

This is what is wrong with PD.com and pretty much every other forum after a few years. Older members always seem to think that people should give a shit about the size of their e-penis.

Cainad has been around long enough. He shouldn't have to toe the line or pander to older members.

Also, if someone was really upset enough to flounce permanently, then they wouldn't bother telling everyone first. It's like an emo threatening to kill himself. If you're going to do it, then stop whining and just pull the trigger already.

I'm just in a really shitty mood right now, and the last thing I wanted to see after a week away from here is a group of "established" members in a circle-jerk. Cainad didn't do anything wrong. Fuck anyone who thinks he did.

Who are you people to judge who is better than who on this board? I'm going to insult people when I feel like it, regardless of how many posts they have.

I can only hope that one day, all forums are anonymous. It's the only way to avoid this stuff.

It's got nothing to do with "better", its common courtesy.  You wouldn't make a dig at someone you didn't know IRL, so why do it here?  Or if you did you'd probably get a punch in the mouth, and you would deserve it.

I've spoken to LMNO via PM, and email, and we didn't poke each other when we didn't know each other.  That's how relationships tend to work.

Cainad certainly doesn't need to pander to anyone, but I've never really spoken to him, so it's somewhat rude (at least in my mind) to act as if we're old buddies and poking fun at each other.

Believe it or not, there ARE relationships on the internet.  Many different relationships.

Cainad in the strictest sense didn't do anything wrong, not according to the forum guidelines, or for the general community here.

For a few people within this community, it's perceived that he has been a passive aggressive little bastard who  doesn't seem to interact with those few on any other level.

That's where the drama has come from. And I don't believe that there is, or will be, any kind of attempt to "enforce" a "no insults/digs/ego deflations" policy on everyone else.

It's true.  It's hard to understand how someone 'means' a post unless there is some sort of context.  Cainad had made what I perceived to be a few thinly disguised insults in the past, which I pretty much ignored, but I guess that fairly innocent post yesterday tipped me off the deep end.

You're kind of right, to be honest. I like the people here, but I'll admit that I am mostly a troll. But I try to restrain myself while I'm here because I do find the place genuinely interesting. But this really pissed me off and things were looking really one-sided against Cainad, even though he didn't do anything wrong.

It was hardly even an insult. Hoopla was just being a little bit too much of a delicate flower for my liking. Cainad told a joke, Hoopla started crying, and his big brothers beat up Cainad. That's what I'm seeing in this thread.
